The Downlow Medal, for the curious and probably pointless stat of never polling a Brownlow vote.

Amongst current players Shannon Watt has now played in 147 regular season games without picking up a Brownlow vote. Aaron Fiora and Ryan Hargreave have each played 136 games without the AFL CEO calling out their names on Brownlow night. Jason Blake has racked up 128 games without catching the eye of the umpires.

The overall record is currently held by another Kangaroo in Ross Henshaw (150 career games, no votes). Assuming Watt, Hargreave and Fiora go on next year and there are no slip-ups (e.g. dyeing their hair blond and playing in the midfield) all three should surpass Henshaw's record.

Kicked 3 goals and had a blinder Rnd. 16 vs Hawthorn, definatly should have got him off the duck.

I thought the Downlow Medal was actually an award for something entirely different related to end-of-season player trip escapades???

Hargrave plays in the backline, umpires don't watch backman.

and if only they gave brownlow points for finals, then he'd be off the mark ...

I'm going to assume you're referring to the Pies game where he was very very good.

I'm surprised that Fiora has never got one. Not that he's any good, but he is the sort of player that would play the odd good game and probably catch the umpires' eye.

Thanks for your input.

Are we just naming random players from our respective clubs and how many votes they have now? What the hell has that got to do with the OP?
Its how many games they have played without a vote, not how many votes they have. Didn't realsie that people like you wouldn't be able to understand it.

PM me if you need a more detailed explanation.

only 6 times in 140 games has he had more than 20 possessions

He's probably disadvantaged in that he's never played in a really good team, because he's probably a quality downhill skier.
