North Melbourne president James Brayshaw says chief executive Eugene Arocca's resignation has shocked the AFL club.

North Melbourne president James Brayshaw rates the shock exit of chief executive Eugene Arocca a bigger concern than the AFL club's on-field woes.

Already enduring a horror week after Saturday's 115-point drubbing from Hawthorn - their fourth loss in five games - the Kangaroos were in crisis on Tuesday when Arocca quit, labelling his position untenable.

Not sure how Brayshaw continues to stay in his position. The whole place ha been one big lie ever since he waltzed on in.

The fact he neglects to do functions while in Tasmania beggars belief, especially when he has nothing better to do.

This story can't possibly end here.

For the love of god, mods, don't let this thread turn into another ****ing trollfest.

I had a look at that Prepubescent Boys Hangout you call the Limbo Club and sure enough, most of the major trolls from the Main Board of bigfooty happen to be regular trollers over there, too. There is no denying that there are a number of flogs who aim only to take cheap shots at clubs on the Main Board. Some disguise it better than others but none of them add anything of substance to threads like this.

Please ask that they take their bullshit to Bay 13 (which is what that board exists for) and leave serious discussion to the adults.

Not sure how Brayshaw continues to stay in his position.

Eddie's been taking some serious heat recently for his dual roles as media/president (the malthouse to carlton comments). At least he strives to fulfil both his responsibilities. The same definitely can't be said about brayshaw...i loathe to quote caro but he has been the 'invisible man' of late.

Question for north fans: Who would you have preferred to stay on - Brayshaw or Euge?

This whole 'untenable' murkiness needs to be clarified.

Wrong man gone - JB should be out on his arse, not Eugene....

I wonder how this plays out with all the North fans who have been publicly declaring their love for Arocca on numerous occasions in relation to his awesome financial management skills.

I wonder if it will be like that great deal he got the Pies on their pubs, now the fans see he was not that good? Or, will it be that they got rid of the wrong person and the President should really be the one going?

Judging from the North board, it's the latter.

99% of them think he was doing a great job and the wrong man left.

On to the topic. Here are some things I'd like to note:

*Euge did plenty of good things while CEO of our club and will be remembered fondly. However, he also made some glaring cockups, too. Several of them. It is laughable how flogs like Yobbo, The Vile Serpent and FatPrick have suddenly decided to act as though Euge was the best CEO in the business, now that he has left the club. They weren't saying that when we locked out our own supporters from a match against Brisbane, then belatedly opened level three again anyway, for instance.

*Somebody leaked that story to The Australian. If it wasn't Euge, chances are it was somebody close to him. Put simply, that shit does make his position untenable. The club must now determine who the leaks originated from (on the very off chance it was cunning ploy from an enemy of Euge's) and see to it that nothing like that happens again any time soon.

*JB, for all of his flaws, handled that press conference well. Answered questions, stuck to script for the most part, maintained his composure, etc. No sane person would believe every claim he made was the 'whole truth' but a large part of a chairman's role is managing which parts of 'the truth' make it out into public domain and I think JB did about as well as one could hope, given the circumstances.

*Even those three flog 'journos' I mentioned earlier have all made comments to the effect that our finances are sound and until recently our off-field situation was tracking well. Bad news for the cretins (and you are cretins, make no mistake) who want to see NMFC burn but this isn't the end of the club. Far from it.

*If you are reading this, Caro, you obsession with NMFC and Brayshaw grew old a long time ago. If you keep going down this path your vendetta will be exposed. And, unlike in 2007 when, on-air, you brushed off the comment that you had written some 50 articles about the Kangaroos either 'in trouble' or 'soon to relocate', it will be hard for you to deny a grass-roots campaign highlighting that that figure has now passed 100 articles. Every football fan knows Rohan Connolly could do your job better than you do. And Fairfax could afford to make a relic like you redundant.

Oh, don't worry, Lance definitely doesn't troll the main board. He simply posts interesting topics and tries to elicit thoughtful responses from the relevant supporters.

Oh, nevermind.

And, FD? You're probably not banned from the NM board anymore so you can stop complaining about groupthink and head over there and post something constructive.

All i know if if my club president allowed my coach to be interviewed the way brad scott was on the radio the other day by damian barret, i would want the president sacked immediately. it was disgraceful

1) It doesn't mean that someone close from Eugene leaked, hell, it could of been anyone. That doesn't make his position untenable at all.

2) He handled that press conference poorly, just like the Majak Daw saga, North Melbourne have opened up more question than it answered. Primarily, why did Brayshaw only just find out after reading the article, then an hour later Eugene's position is suddenly untenable.

Not to mention, why is it suddenly untenable? JB claimed he was doing a fantastic job and there was no internal politics or feuds involved, then why was Eugene's position untenable?

3) Eugene is the main reason behind your financial position, yet he has been effectively pushed by a chairman who is not doing his job to bring more finances in. Like has been stated, he is the invisible man.

4) Caro is spot on, you can claim she is obsessed, but you will struggle to point out where she is wrong.

And, FD? You're probably not banned from the NM board anymore so you can stop complaining about groupthink and head over there and post something constructive.

I just checked and it doesn't look like I'm banned (which is good because now I can read that board without having to log out which was always a pain in the ass) but I'm not going to risk posting in there until given explicit permission.

There are, I kid you not, certain posters in there who, even in such challenging/dramatic times for the club we all love, would rather my input not be shared with the rest of our fellow passionate Roo supporters. Visceral hatred for a guy most of them have never met to the point that they'd rather one of the more insightful posters on both on and off-field matters North be kept from the only sizeable internet forum discussing the club we all love.

Have you ever seen Moby talk about Eminem's hatred for him? It's kinda like that.

Interesting that Caro had to admit we are doing very well off field and that Demetriou publicly stated that today.

This wasn't handled particularly well but it isn't the end of the world. We've been in far worse places than this.

Eugene didn't leak.

If the comments re his dislike for our chief of football were true (which, apparently, they are) then yeah, it kinda does make his position untenable if we have already decided McDonald is staying. Which we have.

You are still a high school student, yes? Wtf are you doing even commenting on boardroom matters. You've probably never even been in a boardroom.

Mods, I've read enough. Get rid of this troll. Bay 13 exists specifically for guys like this.

Like I said to before, the concern is just how influential Eugene was in securing your financial future and where will the club go from this point.

"Was" tracking well.
I'd say the CEO, half the board, & Pres having a falling out over the football manager would be solid evidence it isn't any more.

Nah. Not now, anyway.
The 3 1/2 years previous, sure, by all means have a go at her.
She's been running the same "Brayshaw's a prat" article for 4 years.
But he's given her some pretty good ammunition now
You just have to suck it up that this particular criticism at this point in time seems pretty well founded.

I've NFI about how well the club's actually going, but their media handling has varied between not particularly good, and deadset comical, over the last couple of years.

So then why did Eugene go instead of McDonald? It would be argued that Eugene is far more valuable to North than McDonald. Aren't you concerned at all that there might just be a case of jobs for the boys occurring?

And incorrect, I'm not a high school student, but hey, if you can't play the ball, play the man.

Mods, I've read enough. Get rid of this troll. Bay 13 exists specifically for guys like this.

Okay, so you're incapable of actually addressing the valid points I raised and are just going to cry troll.

Why do you even bother posting here if you're not even going to listen?

We at the NMFC appreciate your deep concern on these matters. Though, given we've been around since 1869, I think we'll be right given we are now the most stable we've probably ever been.
