Yeah, looks like two versions of the best-22 depending on roles/matchups.Jordan, Harmes, Woey and Melk for Oliver, Sparrow, Pig and Fritta gets us back to full strength, but it's admittedly harsh on Melk. Not sure who else realistically makes way for him though.
This also requires a Bowey, Salem or Rivers to go up the ground to make room for Pig.
Good problems to have, but barring any further injuries there's going to be a few unlucky players come finals.
Best-18 would look like this:
FB: McVee - May - Lever
HB: Salem - Tomlinson - Rivers
C: Langdon - Viney - Hunter
HF: ANB - Petty - Petracca
FF: Pickett - JVR - Fritsch
RR: Gawn - Oliver - Sparrow
Then the bench would be Chandler (fwd), Brayshaw (def/mid), Bowey (def/fwd) and either Pig as an extra back, or Melk as an extra forward. Smith sub.
My preference would probably be the Pig version as our ground-ball defending in our D50 sucks, and it would let us release Rivers/Bowey up the ground a bit more, but I imagine it'll all come down to matchups. For example:
- Collingwood: Is it more important to have Hibberd play a role on Elliott, or Melk to play a defensive role on Moore?
- Port: No super dangerous small forwards, so Melk might get the nod
- Brisbane: Same equation as Collingwood with a decision to prioritise a role on Cameron vs a role on Andrews
- GWS: I'd want Hibbo for Toby Greene
- Carlton: Probably want Melk to pick apart Weitering again, and their small forwards are rubbish
