Question - did the suppression of names hurt the possibility of the public supplying information during the initial investigations? The police didn't know where victims were kept and I'm assuming that they didn't have the lead on 'safe house' units/houses that Trevor's diaries indicated existed. Based on the era, I'm guessing that most rent was paid in cash or bank deposits and so could be 'untraceable' - if they had of been able to release names (and pseudonyms in the case of Denis (did they know at the time about Frank Denis or whatever he called himself - where did that info come from???)) would they have been able to appeal to the public to see if anybody had rented out to those names? Obviously Von Einem didn't rent a place from someone random otherwise they would have immediately notified the police as the case went big. Denis or Mr R or MGL could have rented places with their real name and been fairly safe from random public scrutiny when the case went public. I'm leaning to the idea that the safe houses were already owned by someone within the group or a relation.

Ta ... yes I did see that and must have forgotten.
looking back though there have been references to corn flakes and uncooked corn starch. Looks like Young Blood (post 3744) mentioned Corn Flakes which would be an unusual fact to get wrong. Are there other things in Young Blood that were incorrect to establish whether it was sloppily written at all? (as known at the time, not things that have been learned since) It looks like Zebo's uncooked corn starch might be closer to correct as it has much more in the way of details including the name of the person who did the stomach contents testing. If Zebo is reading, please let us know the source of that - it looks like it might be from the Advertiser on 28th Feb 1984 based on the file name.

pg 478. Public Trustee for Thora Von Einem? Anyone here more across the legal terms used? Looks to me like government detailing the estate of a woman with no children. I've heard rumours that she disowned Bevan at some point (no official story as yet) but I was under the belief that Bevan had other living siblings? Maybe I'm misinterpreting this document though. Legal minded geeks please speak up.

I think it's because the Public Trustee are acting as the executor of her will. Also, doesn't he have a living brother who has been discussed earlier in this thread?

looks like it's something that can be nominated (or assumedly if you haven't nominated an executor in your will is assigned) and doesn't imply that there isn't anyone in the will, just who is assigned to enacting the will.

He's seriously dropped the ball.
Perhaps a sign all is not well with him.
to be fair dealing with the spread of these types of allegations online can be like playing Whack-a-mole, just when one is taken down another one surfaces hence needs to be followed up and removed, so he may have decided to just let it go.

Jules was a ground floor to upstairs with balcony place

Black Rose Piano Bar was downstairs just 30m away. Used to be Second City Youth Drop In Centre

Funny you should say that because in 2017 i befriended a male gay nurse, who worked for the AIDS Council of SA/Gay Men's Health during the 80s, and one of his responsibilities was setting up the Second Story Youth Drop In Centre, for gay teenagers/young adults who for whatever reason for socially isolated (kicked out of home, conservative families, etc.), to come together for a few hours once a fortnight to seek moral support from peers /or access professional support services.

Second Story Youth Drop In Centre operated fortnightly from 1986 to 2011, until the then Weatherall Labor Government cut funding, and since 2013 Feast Queer Youth Drop In has provided a similar free service.

Back to the gay male nurse, he told me the outreach workers had a very hard time trying to convince gay street teens to stop cruising the beats for support and start coming inside to use an official support service.
