Word of warning, after next weeks episode (which is about the speed force apparantly) there is a one off non-story related musical episode which is also a supergirl crossover. The episode description is

It already sounds awful

Expecting big things from H.R. :thumbsu:

Probably unlikely but I did think maybe Savitar isn't someone we already know but someone we will know in the future (what would happen if they reveal it to be some random who turns up as a friend in season 4 or 5 and a recurring plot point is knowing this person becomes Savitar)

Also was this the first episode Savitar wasn't cgi ? (Because he looked better when he's actually part of the scene rather than cgi)

Would be a good angle but my money is still on it being one of Barry or Wally. (Really hoping we've seen the last of Eddie Thorne). Has anybody ever read the comics? Wonder if his identity is known in the source material.

Going off Savitar's dialogue alone, he spoke like a future Barry that had lost everything due to naivety.

I like the idea of it being Barry and it makes a whole lot of sense (also since everyone thought the season 2 iron mask guy would be evil Barry)

I did have an idea that the next 4 way crossover could be them fighting a version of the crime syndicate with evil versions of everyone

Future Flash (Barry Allen) from the comics. Colours similiar to Savitar.

The music meister episode is story related (it is mentioned in their timeline analysis

People expect too much from these shows. They want a billion dollar production each week.
There is also a fair portion who are just cynical for the sake of it

Hardly. I think the consensus on this board is Flash has some of the best special effects in the television game right now to the point where they're overusing them to compensate for shitty writing. They could shave off half the effects if it meant Barry wouldn't be written like a moron every second episode and I wouldn't care.

The show draws criticism for shoe-horning romantic sub plots every point they can, sloppy writing and poor pacing - all things that television shows with a fraction of the budget that The Flash has can do well. It's just shitty CW execs trying to appease a tweenage girl market that could care less about the show at the behest of the show's key demographic.

I thought Once More With Feeling was great. Let's see how this one goes. I wonder if Victor Garber will appear in it.

He is in the trailer. I didnt know he was a song and dance man.

Anyway once more had its moments, but its probably the most overrated buffy ep.

Was waiting for Barry to reveal a scar/wound on his neck at the end there.

Wish they would stop dragging this shit out so much especially if they are gonna produce such boring eps.

Also how exactly did that flash badge make black flash dissapear?
Did Barry get the Flash badge back? Is Zollerman gonna make a return? Hated that ep after last weeks was okay.

Anyone see the flash in the train when Jessie took on Savitar

Just had a look and it looks more like just a random guy wearing a red hoodie. But I would be mighty impressed if it is an easter-egg dropped in as a reference of something that is to come.

I'm beginning to believe Savitar is an evil alternate Barry from the future; Savitar's words to Quick "I already know what happens, I lived it", to me is a direct reference to Barry living out this alternate timeline due to messing with the past and creating Flashpoint. This is why Savitar's prophesies are coming true.

The key lies in the future scene where Savitar kills Iris and screams "I'm finally free of you Flash! You lose". I just wonder how killing Iris 'frees' him?

My theory is that over the course of Barry's life in the years to follow the present day, he'll live through more and more tragedy; betrayal, death, sadness - all a result of Flashpoint. Over time he becomes bitter and twisted, and begins mentally slipping to the point that he starts killing his enemies. But despite turning to the dark side, much like Darth Vader, he still possesses a glimmer of humanity inside him - the moral, harmless Barry of old. And it is this 'weakness' that holds him back from going full villain and ruling the multiverse. The only way he can rid himself of the 'good' Barry within is to travel back in time to the current timeline and do the one thing that will completely shatter his world and set him on a path that ensures he embraces his darkness and transforms into a more powerful version of Savitar - kill Iris.

Is this what he means by being "free" of Barry; or in other words, his past self, during a time when he was once the hero?

I also noticed two episodes ago when Barry and Savitar face off that he made mention of Barry being "the good guy" and because of this he couldn't kill him. Also, Savitar accuses Barry of "having everything"; the boy Joe raised, the man Iris loves - almost as if he is jealous. Or could Savitar actually be the alternate version of Barry that isn't taken in by Joe as a foster child, and provided love and support, so he grows up as a psychopath after watching his mother get killed (much like Zoom/Zoloman) and becomes a villain.
