Thornton being outbodied by a forward who was on absolute fire does not make HIM horrid. The situation was horrid because Bradshaw was unstoppable.
Just like Gibson last week, doesn't mean Gibson was crap but Fev trampled all over him.
And Bower 'looking a much better match up than T-bird' is not Thornton's fault either.
Comparing Gibson and Thornton enough said.
Both are ordinary players(Not in the Milburn/Goddard class)
I might be harsh but just stating the facts.
Dont get me wrong i dont hate tbird gives 110% but doesnt seem to have the composure and skill to be A class.

What an amazing game!

Our forward line worked superb, we kicked 18.4 (a couple of behinds were rushed, so it's actually 18.7) and Fev had three of those behinds, whilst Stevo was the only other person who had a behind to his name! Obviously a couple might have also not quite made the distance, but in actual scoring shots we just about never missed

Credit to our classy mids as well obviously though ;)

Isn't this a priceless comment on the Bears board after we beat them?
Handy midfield Carlton are building. Almost worth the price of selling what soul and integrity they had left.
What a hypocrite when his club r*ped Fitzroy and didn't even have any integrity and soul before they merged to play in four GFs in a row.

At least we got Murphy as a result of the merger. ;)

just got home after seeing one of the greatest comeback, i have ever seen loved to stick it up those no nothing brisbane supporters, well done blue boys, gee wasnt stevo hot in the last, and waite up forwad also looked good :thumbsu:

Flew up from Melbourne this morning, went to the match and am absolutely over the moon of the game our team played tonight. Fantastic win in a place in which we havent had much joy at.
And absolutely amazed at the amount of Carlton supporters that were at the game.
The pre match function at the Port Office hotel was absolutely chocka block full of Blues supporters with speeches from special guests Brett Montgomery and Steven Browne.

Go Blues!!!

Just got back from the Gabba (gee it is a bitch of a ground to drive away from). I was so proud of the boys tonight. They could easily have turned it up after that 3rd quarter. Mad Monday is just over a week away. Instead they threw their heart & soul into getting back into the game & then gritted their teeth & held on in those final frantic minutes when Brisbane were attacking. Some heroic acts from a number of players got us over the line. We have a good group of players at our club. Although there are no guarantees in life, I have little doubt that premiership #17 is now on the horizon (2 years, maybe 3 maximum). The Blues are on their way back.

You should have heard how loudly I clapped when Houlihan kicked his third goal in the first quarter. :D

In the game when we beat Port at AAMI when we made a similar comeback, I jumped up out of my chair when we kicked a matchwinning goal and lifted a desk with a printer, monitor and computer on it off the ground.

BANG! :D

Congrats on the win guys. You wanted it more than us. No excuses, we were beaten by a far better team on the night.

Agree about the driving away from the game.2 hours for me to get home, a real pain in the butt.

I had to do the loop from near the Mater Hospital, up Allen St, on to Vulture St, just to get back on to the M1 to head home to the Gold Coast. It took me almost as long to do that as it did to get back to the Coast once I was on the M1.

I know what you mean. I was parked in Lisson Street, took ages to get out, then onto Logan Rd, off to Old Cleveland and the gateway to come North to Woodford.
Last week, went over to Ipswich and onto the se through the City , and was that a nightmare.
Frustrating as heck.
nearly as bad as the brand of footy we been playing the last couple of months. lol.
