Oh, and CursingFijian if you want to peddle crap, just a heads up, there’s this really cool resource called SweetFA+ where the entire history is stored and it’s really, really easy to check stuff.

Hope this helps.
It has been an interesting exercise Elton.

I think to draw it all to some sort of conclusion I'm leaning towards you really are NOT qualified to dish out advice on the grass is greener syndrome.

However, I think you should definitely put How to Spot a New Lawn 101 on your teaching curriculum though. You'd be excellent at that.

TheInjuryFactory pretty much covered it here …
These guys handed the reins to imissfrosty and getting all up in our grill about giving the reins to Greenery?

Frosty was already a player at the Furies before he was given captaincy.

If you’re not concerned that your club is so inept at leadership that they have to bring in someone externally to captain, then that’s on you.

IMO the role of Captain should be taken with some respect & not given to an outsider who doesn’t know the club dynamics and culture.

Greenery stayed too mate, at least through S33.
It's not about staying or going though, killer.

It's about whether you get to pretend to be sage and counsel people against jumping ship, when it really is the height of hypocrisy.

I’ll give you credit that doesn’t go to your fellow teammates.

When presented with irrefutable facts, you at least try and twist your way out of it instead of coming back with nice melt.

That gets you a tick.

Barely. He arrived a few months before.

One of the most stable leaderships in the comp mate.

Spoken like a guy looking backwards rather than forwards, but surely it’s a mix of both?

Valid.

Still ridiculous though. I mean imissfrosty vs Greenery? That's like comparing a butter knife to a light saber.

Now hold on a minute there cowboy.

The irrefutable facts are that when you left, the Furies list was in disarray, and you knew it was only going to get worse. In fact the Furies leadership group was actively poaching their own players to jump to a new club.

Are you suggesting that ImissFrosty was a light saber? He was an existing Furies player who fitted the “young Furies” approach at the time; especially as the Furies knew that Turbo, Ned, EJ & Bono were all going to leave when the OOB’s were approved.

In contrast, Greenery ‘s posting history doesn’t fit the Bombers posting style or club culture. Greenery ’s best posting has been when he has been alongside other members of the NC.

As I said above—- Captains should represent a club & lead culture. In the same way Tigerturbulance is the perfect Head Boy at the OOB’s, tony the Mafia Boss encompasses everything the Bears stand for, and how Headless leads the Demons from the front.

The Bombers should be led by someone who is iconically a Bomber; not former member of the Nerd Club who has had two short stints captaining clubs previously only to leave

I got your point about Captains. It's well articulated and valid but not relevant to the pretext of this conversation, which is whether an OOB is more qualified or less qualified to counsel SFA players against falling into the GIGS trap.

Were you part of the leadership group that handed the reins over to frosty and pickett?

He’s also forgetting that guys like James Colorado and Pickitt didn’t arrive till a season after he left.

And he’s completely overlooked omgfridge and NaturalDisaster

What are they - fridge magnets?

Sounds like a good spooning would be beneficial for all. Mind if I join? Your place or his?

Mate— I’d hate to defend Elton Johns Wig (because honestly, we have very different views on things around here), but the Furies were left in a great condition when the OOB’s formed.

The Furies had a generational divide—- the “older” Furies went to the OOB’s, while the younger ones stayed behind.

The E-girls era was engaging & creative. If it wasn’t for Dav, TJ & Frosty being banned in one hit, the Furies would have continued to grow.

People underestimate the talent of the youth that was at the Furies at the time. Yes— they were Edgelords who went way too far in their comments in a private group ; however they were young men ( teens/ early 20’s).

I got your point about Captains. It's well articulated and valid but not relevant to the pretext of this conversation, which is whether an OOB is more qualified or less qualified to counsel SFA players against falling into the GIGS trap.

I was Vice Captain of the Furies when Frosty was recruited. It was my reluctance to share team PM’s with (a then very young) Pickitt that led to Frosty & Pickitt not being traded together for damicky. Frosty had demonstrated during his rookie season his ability to be an active contributor, but in match threads, but also in PM’s that positively influence team culture.

I was involved in discussions about bringing in Dav, I had already agreed to move to the Bears before Frosty was made Co-Captain with TJ; so no— I didn’t make the decision on Frosty, but I was aware of it and agreed with it. Frosty was part (not the only part, but part) of the Furies youth focus at a time of change.

Regarding Pickitt, I had left the Furies before he joined. Pickitt also wasn’t made Captain until after the NC Trio got banned. This is after the OOB’s had already started—- not during their recruitment stage.

Not really. He and Supersuns high-tailed it outta Dodge too.

He’s all talk.

Suns & I have only ever played together at the Bears. I think you’re getting your seasons confused Kiljoy
