Disgraceful. Whether it is illegal I have no idea. I guess we'll see whether he needs a pardon.
It wouldn’t be the first Kushner he pardoned…maybe he can will then get an Ambassador position to France??

His old man sounds like a good bloke. Not sure if him, Gaetz, or RFK are his most F’d up picks so far 🤷🏻‍♀️

In 2005 Kushner was convicted of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion and witness tampering after hiring a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law, arranging to record a sexual encounter between the two, and sending the tape to his sister.

Let’s not.

If you want to have a reasonable discussion, keep all the conspiracy stuff out of it.

Have you read the letter?

Don't parrot what the NYT tells you about the letter. Actually read the letter and tell me what it is supposed to be.

This is how the information analysis operates when the concepts of mis and disinformation are guiding principles. It's all about narrative and not the available facts and circumstances (and the analysis based on those facts and circumstances).

People perceived to be authorities on the subject of Russian intelligence operations produced a letter which provided cover / a reason to Twitter to censor the NYP story, for what has proven to be entirely accurate reporting on an issue that in any pre-Trump scenario would have been a national scandal, completely interfering in the conduct of an election in the process, and for media outlets to ignore the content of the laptops because 'experts' cast doubt over their authenticity. There was no basis for doubts about authenticity of the content and there was no basis for them to link it to 'the Russians'. Dozens of people used to conducting investigations (i.e. former prosecutors and real journalists) corroborated authenticity in a process which from memory took more than 12 months.

In this discussion post the 2024 election you have now referred to conspiracy (theories) at least twice now in response to my reference to the laptops. That's the proof that the disinformation produced by the experts worked, isn't it? You are part of its target audience.

You're not going to hear me say that Trump is perfect. He is horrendous on all things related to Israel, for example. Most of the people he was surrounded by in his first term were awful, but the saving grace is that they were not MAGA. His team this time around is much better but still cannot shake the establishment. It's not RFK, and Gaetz who are the problem it's the establishment cronies like Rubio. The economics cabinets picks come with big red warning flags, stooges of the interest which run counter to what Trump says he wants to do.

Every president does the crony pardoning of people who are just criminals but who can pay for their pardons. It's grubby and seriously unfair because there are all sorts of people who are political prisoners, who were set-up or simply crushed by the justice system. Assange and Snowden would be the two most obvious and high profile examples. I used to listen to a program hosted by John Kiriakou, a very senior member of the CIA's operation in the Middle East during the immediate post-9/11 era. He blew the whistle on some of the torture programs and went to jail for it. He tells a story of a meeting he set up with Giuliani to discuss a pardon. Giuliani asked Kiriakou for a 7-figure sum in exchange for Rudy taking Kiriakou's case to Trump for a pardon. It's really disgusting.

But there is a pretty important distinction here. What I said about Biden pardoning Hunter was not about the pardon in and of itself. I am arguing that it is further corroboration of the claims made about the criminal abuse of office and money laundering enterprise in which Biden and his family have been engaged. It's not just in Ukraine although that the scenario for which there is publicly available evidence which is why it is my focus. He has been doing the same thing in China. Trump pardoning a piece of shit like Kushner is not criminal and doesn't make Trump a criminal it makes him like every other president. The difference between Trump and basically every other president is that he is capable of doing some good.

I see you’re choosing no.

I tried to have a reasonable discussion with you. You keep choosing to delve in to rants and theories and narratives well beyond the scope of the conversation, along with some personal insults once more.

And every time you get close to having to acknowledge how wrong you are you withdraw and call me a conspiracy theorist.

That's what I said that someone thought was funny, that you're not capable of engaging.

Here is the letter (posted by Politico):

This is one example of how Politico reported the letter

I don't care about Politico or read it. It simply reflects the way the letter was covered by you and your colleagues.

Does anyone reading this want to have a reasonable discussion about it?

Once more you’ve reached a flawed conclusion, and thrown some personal insults in for fun.

You brought up hUnTeR bIdEn’S lApToP as a response to a general comment about seeking relevant experts to know whether something you’re reading is factual or not.

Hunter Biden’s laptop has been in the hands of the GOP for years and they’ve never found anything. It’s not the gotcha you think it is. It’s a fantastic example of using a couple of factual data points to reach a deeply flawed conclusion.

You think the 'GOP' is interested in bringing down Hunter and Joe Biden for their involvement in money laundering.

That's the funniest ****ing thing I've heard in a long time.

No other President has had over 4000 legal cases prior to assuming office.

ah so this is how you make sense of them having done nothing with the laptop despite telling all and sundry they’ll do so many things when they get the laptop.

It couldn’t be that the laptop simply didn’t have 99% of the stuff they’ve said was on the laptop.

You want to engage in good faith? Don’t do stuff like this.

Be better Bruno. You’re everything you accuse others of being.

I'm 'accusing' you of being a journalist in mainstream media?

Why don't you just deny it if you're not?

I know your one of these journalists because you act like them. It's so transparent. I would think that the people who like what you saw in response to these discussions might stop and think. It's been pretty illuminating.

The only reason one doesn’t believe the narratives you’ve spun is that they’re a journalist?

Seems like another ‘thing Bruno knows’ to add to the list of things that are wrong.

Whether you are a journalist or not isn't material, is it? I was having fun because it seemed to wind you up.

If you don't see a problem with a scenario in which more than 50 former senior intelligence agents misused their status to create what was, by definition, 'disinformation' to discredit crucial information relating to a candidacy for president and which is a perfect example of why the mis and disinformation categorisations are incompatible with proper analysis; and

If you can't or wont acknowledge the 'smoke' coming from the Biden laptops, among many sources, is the reason for a blanket 10 year pardon,

I can't help you.

You're the one that cares based on the label 'disinformation' but you won't acknowledge its existence unless the narrative suits. You're not capable of engaging because you're caught up in an irrelevant partisan view of the world. You know, the GOP, being the other side of the scheme laundering money through Ukraine, which would be interested in prosecuting Joe Biden because it is on the other side of the isle.

The GOP is splintered, like most parties, between its establishment and its grass roots. Trump has only really started to assume some control of the GOP, an example of which is his daughter in law now being the RNC boss. But those Kushner adjacent pigs in the Senate in particular will still side with Democrats on any nomination which undermines the interests of their donors or their personal interests. I do actually struggle to believe that you can be this naive about politics. Like, do you remember the time Kevin Rudd was PM and head of the Labour Party and Malcolm Turnbull was PM and head of the Liberal Party? What about the hatchet job the UK Labour establishment did on Jeremy Corbyn? And look where establishment Labour politics has gotten Labour, facing what amounts to a recall election at the same time that the Tories are doing their best not to be in power.

everything the people I believe say is 100% factually accurate, and everything the people I don't believe say is 100% false and evil and probably used by the secret satanic cabal to keep the good american landowners down.

it is as simple as that.

This is a really good example of what I mentioned earlier:

I would say a conspiracy theorist tends to take factual data points, then tie them together into a narrative that explains it all, often in connection with other events, because people don't like randomness. This often results in a false conclusion that appears factual and accurate because of those data points.

There's some factual data points in there. But a flawed conclusion.

As this boards reigning poster of the year I would like to say you have summed up both sides beautifully.
