My take
Think of it like a Carlton vs Collingwood game
That’s the Middle East in a nutshell. Everyone wants to believe one side is good and the other bad. The reality is….they are all batshit crazy.

I say this as someone with Jewish ancestry on one side and Arab on the other.

who’s fault is this one i wonder
Unless more info comes out you'd have to think Turkey would be high on the list of suspects since they've been arming groups like this for a while now. Either way they're probably the biggest beneficiaries.

Whether or not it was intentional I'm not sure we'll ever know but Israel bombing the shit out of Hezbollah and distracting Iran was certainly a massive factor.

And Bruno wonders why no one takes him seriously on this stuff.

Obviously. You don't have and have never displayed any intention to engage in a substantive debate. I'm just making snide remarks like you do, the key difference is that I know what I'm talking about.

So you can add the former Al Qaeda lead group which is now in control in Syria to the list of merry rebel bands who take power when western interests destabilise countries in the Middle East. It's a good list, full of humanitarians, including the Mujahideen / Taliban in Afghanistan, the Muslim Brotherhood, the current roots for the Iranian regime and the collective of lunatics who became ISIS and ISIL.

They're always called 'rebels' at the start. It's so that people like you are triggered by images of 'the Rebels' in Star Wars. But look when happens when, what we are told would classify as a merry band of rebels gathers together in the US capital, they are called 'insurrectionists'. You don't have to be overthrowing a 'democracy' to be an insurrectionist.

Gotta wait for the US conservative influencers to decide whether it’s good or bad for Russia first

Always with the projection. I gave you a list of people I follow on geopolitics. Unsurprisingly you have no idea who they are.

And then there is the irony that 10 years ago you would have been making the same comment about liberal / progressive / left influencers or otherwise agreeing with me because that's the political team you follow.

The principles never changed. That's why there are still great lefty geopolitical commentators. The positions of the principle-less have changed.
