Its not the same thing.

Aboriginals were nomadic, ergo they could light a bunch of fires and fu** off somewhere else for a few years.
The point that Indigenous people had adapted their own fire management system that suited both their lifestyle and the physical and geographical realities of Australia is entirely relevant. It worked.

Then when the balance got thrown out from 1788 onwards with European settlement, things have gradually got worse since because that adapted approach gradually fell into disuse as Europeans spread and Indigenous people were displaced.

Actually there's plenty of evidence avaliable to suggest the idea that Aboriginal people were nomadic is a myth that was perpetuated to support the notion of Terra Nullius. Cook himself, in his diaries, uses the word 'houses' to describe an Aboriginal settlement in North Queensland. In terms of land management, they did move from grazing ground to grazing ground ln a seasonal basis, but this was part of a structured lifestyle. It was hardly a haphazard nomadic lifestyle. It's called agriculture.

I hope they keep trying though. I believe in it.
So do I.
It has to be done.
The thing that annoys me is the noise with no plan. I am all for doing what we can to save the planet so I want to hear the plan from those who do all the shouting. Tell me your plan. If a leader from any party can lay it out like that then the people will follow.

Yep. Politics is frustrating when they spin interpretations. I think the difference here is Taylor is accused of doctoring an actual document, whereas McKay was found to be bullshitting.
Did he doctor an actual document or simply make one up ? anyway it was more likely a staff member.

When one of your own ministers goes on national tv and tells his party leader to ‘get out the cheque book’ I think we can safely say he’s actually not doing that much. This is a bloke who found 180 million to stage a press conference on Xmas island ffs.
Not one of his best efforts. No one could argue with that. But you can find any number of blunders like this on both sides.
East West link. $1,000,000,000 to not build a road . Was not going to cost us anything to tear up the contract. $1,000,000,000 for green preferences.

You have no pointed out anything he has done wrong other than in your opinion you think he is fake .
Do I think he is handling himself well ?
Not coming home quicker was a mistake.
Other than that.....can not see what more he can do. people want him home and then he is home and visiting he is a fake with forced empathy. Dammed if you do and dammed if you do not.

At the end of the day any Prime Minister has limited control on what can happen with bush fires as the fire services are state run and funded.
I was never impressed with his arrogance as Minister for Stopping Boats.

Spot on.

Another issue that many hours could be spent on.

I didn't say a word about Labor.

My pet peeve is on social media, any time I dare criticise Morrison, I get a load of messages saying I'm but t hurt, I have salty tears for bill, I'm a lefty whiner...

Granted I have a Pink Floyd avatar so assuming I'm left is an easy profile guess but it really bugs me that if I'm anti Morrison I must have been pro Bill.

This binary politics is pitiful, they hitch their flag to a side and dual with one another no matter what the topic. Classic divide and conquer

Makes me sick. I don't have a set ideology, I take each day, each topic on its merits, I've voted both ways... I guess it's my own dumb fault for poking my head around FB and Twitter

I have no twitter.
I have voted both sides and independent over the journey.
I did not mean to infer you where Labour or left if I did.
I just think your comments where weighed by your personal dislike of the PM. Which of course is your right or middle or left.

Weve got a problem when the highest praise we can give a guy is “well, he’s no worse than the other guy”
Which has been going on for 12 years at all levels of Government ......

I wasn't implying you to be honest, when I saw loonerty hadn't mentioned Labor but it was implied for him it made me feel like I do out there

I definitely enjoy the discourse in here better, atleast I can read varying opinions with substance rather than the regular Twitter barbs

Yeah, so, the first comment was taking the piss, the second one was not. He was talking about the PM getting yelled at.

Just PM me for anymore basic communication tips.

The former is an example of vitriol, and is the kind of language that other politicians and their supporters get castigated for. But now it's ok?

Given this context? Yep. Having a laugh at the expense of inept polis is fine by me.

Is that the thing that's bothering you the most out of all of this?
