I'm going to plead ignorance here... Can someone please state the exact reasons why many fans are disgruntled by thomas' appointment?

and please don't say 'cause he's one of the sanfl' or something... expand

Rob Lucas telegraphed the appointment in parliament 2 months ago. It was a done deal.

 Is this a serious post??
I'm saying that after Jesper Fjeldstad's series of SANFL-favoured leaks, it is important to read exactly what is written, particularly when there is no quote or other source for the information.

and have done so since Big Bob McLean walked through the front door at Alberton.

Lol wut.

Bob McLean was a stud. Keith Thomas is a brownnosed SANFL shill who was rubber-stamped by the Haysman/Port-hating establishment months ago.

Assuming it's all true ....

Welcome to the club Keith, I'm sure your integrity as a businessman will ensure you do what is in the best interest of our football club.
Please don't judge our club based on perceptions from the SANFL, take an honest look yourself and I'm sure you will come to embrace the club as others have done before you.
Don't be scared to tell the SANFL they are wrong in the times where that is the case. We need a shakeup, but not all of our issues are of our making.
We need a strong CEO to serve 'our club' at this time and you've been entrusted with the role, please don't betray the trust shown to you. Remember that we are a great football club, not a revenue stream.

I will not welcome Thomas to my club at all. You have to earn my respect like Haysman did.

Regardless, I am against Thomas and his SANFL loving ways

**** off ****

I don't give two hoots of Thomas' background or associations, I will just judge him on what he does for our club and really hope his connections bring some major sponsors along for the ride.

Excellent post Malibu. Once Keith Thomas is formally appointed and we have his email address, I would urge all supporters to send this text to him. :thumbsu:

Making sure the final Adelaide Oval deal is unequivocally in our best interests - with opportunity to improve unlike this 'you signed it back in 1995 when the football industry was like 3000 BC' - and the longterm goal of licence independence has to remain the club's and therefore his priorities.

However, it is utterly putrid that Rob Lucas' parliamentary outburst a few months ago has proven to be absolutely true - regardless of Haysman's incumbency, the subsequent spin campaign from all circles declaring our autonomy unfettered and a 'transparent' process of 40+ candidates.

It looks like a bigger stitchup than Neil Craig's appointment in 2004.

So in his short time on the SAFC, leaks to John Olsen's known contacts, as well as a `mysterious leak' from a meeting that he was one of only four people to attend (with none of the other three having anything to gain from a leak) really put into perspective what a sleazebag he is.

At what point does he come under scrutiny for his behaviour, I wonder? He doesn't have parliamentary privilege to hide behind any more.

I don't see that businessmen have integrity. They are out to get what the can, at my expense. They are driven by the profit motive, and that does not necessarily equate with "integrity".

However, if I change perspective and think of his major motive as representing his shareholders, the stakeholders of the PAFC, then maybe I can come at it.

Trouble is, when listing the stakeholders, Thomas listed the SANFL first, and did not include the supporters of the PAFC.
