The Joke that is the West Australian Liberal Party

The point with 2021 was that because the Liberals failed to make any point of differentiation, they gave tacit approval to everything the government had done during the previous term rather than trying to figure out how to dent McGowan's popularity. The architects of this insipid strategy then blamed the people who argued against it for its failure.
You make a good argument but I believe its at least possible that peoples perception of the Libs as having being taken over by the evangelicals affected the way they voted to some degree. Certainly for me & my friendship, family group the idea of being governed by more happy clappers like Morrison is a major turn off regardless of what policies they might be ostensibly running on.

It's unfortunate, but I don't think untrue to say that (in recent times) parties stated policy positions often have little to do with how they end up governing. I mean Dutton could say he's going to do any number of things that might appeal to voters but people are still going to vote with their perception of him in mind and he's not a popular figure to a lot of people.

Baz displaying all the political acumen chasing a few hundred votes from business owners and absentee landlords in the CBD probably requires.

An opinion poll that triggered a leadership crisis meeting in the Liberal party in Western Australia was commissioned by a marketing firm run by the former campaign manager of aspiring Liberal MP Basil Zempilas.

Liberal leader Libby Mettam called the party room meeting on Tuesday morning to unite the party behind her ahead of an election due in March, in which Mr Zempilas is expected to be elected to state parliament.

The Worst is picking sides again, worked so well for Zac K and Jenna Clarke.

To be fair to the Basil Party, in terms of government formation it really doesn't matter if they have good policies, awful policies or start doing the nutbush every time they're asked a question about policy. As long as WA Labor look competent, keep delivering infrastructure projects and avoid major scandals, they'll piss it in at the next election and probably the one after. Liberal incompetence is just a bonus to Labor, it's not required for them to win.

WA attributing it’s economic strength to the state owning its infrastructure
