I'll see if anyone else has a comment to make over the next week or so and then make some recommendations.
I will throw this out for comment;

How would you feel about changing to H2H?

I am in 2 H2H's - I'd prefer to stay roto

I'm happy either way, one issue is that once you have a crappy team it's hard to pick up good players as a lot have gone ( doesn't help when I draft injury. Prone ******s)
I'm ok with head to head, but this is the only roto league I'm in.

Cracking finals series in the real NBA eh? Really enjoying it, villains, heroes, agism.

Ok guys, based on your responses the consensus for next season seems to be;
We retain the Roto format.
We retain the Auction format as is.
We increase the number of keepers.

Here are my additional proposals for next season;

• Increase the number of managers to 15 - Helps spread the talent and justifies an increase in keepers.
• Increase the number of Development contracts for all teams by 2 to a total of 4 - allows teams to retain talent but at a cost. (These players may be kept for the next season at this seasons’ price plus 25%)
• Increase the number of Team contracts for the bottom 6 teams by 1 to a total of 3 - allows weaker teams to retain more talent but only those players drafted at Auction. (These players will be kept for the next season at exactly the same price. Team contracts can only be awarded to players who were not contracted the previous season.)
• The Champion and runner-up will be awarded a budget increase for the next seasons' Auction. $5M and $2M - reward for season success, greater ability to attract the top free agents.

I'd be happy to include all of these changes, which don't fundamentally change the league, but may give both the season and the Auction a little more spice.
Please give me your comments on these proposals, do you like them all, some or none? Do you have any alternative proposals? Now's the time to open it up!

Yep I am very happy with the retaining of the roto and auction format and like the idea of the increase in the number of keepers.


In relation to the additional proposals I don't think it is possible to extend the number of managers without restarting/redrafting the entire league. I'd prefer not to do that.

I am all for doubling the number of development contracts from 2 to 4. I have some young guns but i also believe it allows you have a greater ownership over your players and therefore a greater attachment to your team.

The team contracts proposal has merit, but i'd like to put forward, the bottom 4 teams get 3 contracts, the middle 4 teams get 2 contracts and the top 4 teams only the 1 team contract.

I also like the idea of there being salary cap (prizemoney) increases for the Champion and Runner Up but again maybe an extension of this. To make it more enticing for teams to reach their max games, finish as high as possible and to eliminate tanking because of the potential new team contract rule above I propose the top 4 teams get salary cap increases, possibly 1st - 5mil , 2nd - 3.5mil , 3rd - 2mil , 4th - 1mil.

I think with some of or all of the above changes the league would potentially be more enticing/rewarding and more fun to be apart of.
