The Killers - Day & Age

Oh, some of the lyrics really make you cringe. When has the killers ever been known for great lyrics anway? Although, Flowers has a great ability to make bad lyrics sound decent.

"Spaceman" has been getting a bit of airtime on commercial radio this week. I'm a fan of this one, very catchy. A fair improvement on "Human" (which is so-so).

Love the Killers big time.

My top 5:
When You Were Young
Mr Brightside
Spaceman
Read My Mind
All These Things I've Done

But yeah, they change frequently. I thought there was more filler on Sams Town than Hot Fuss and Day and Age.

You got good taste in music Sir Vlado, melodic rock ftw :thumbsu:
Out of curiosity who do you see becoming the next U2 out of the Killers and Coldplay?

Well, U2 will still be around for a while. Killers or Coldplay, hmm, both are great bands, but i'm guessing The Killers although I like Coldplay too, it will be good to see them battle it out when they're in their 40s. :thumbsu:

Coldplay or The Killers? Whichever band is not as awful lyrically as the other (tough contest!).

Think I've really moved on from the Killers. I seriously can't stand Human, the fact that they tried the whole gramatically incorrect thing and weren't able to pull it off makes it sound like a mess. I do like Spaceman though but Human has put me off going anywhere near the thing. It's really a shame because Hot Fuss showed a band with heaps of potential that would go well. Oh well wasn't to be.

Definately as good as, if not surpassing, hot fuss. 'Spaceman', IMO, is the best song of 2008, I'm just hooked on it. 'Human' has grown on me, and although I've only sat down and lstened to the whole album once, I already love 'Losing Touch', 'Neon Tiger' and 'Dustland Fairytale'.

Great album, friggen good work.

It won't be nearly as popular as Hot Fuss, but its just as good as it. It definately surpasses Sams Town.

Day & Age doesn't have any fillers on it except for maybe Joy Ride.

Joy Ride is one of the worst songs I have heard this year. The World We Live In is definite filler. I Can't Stay is a very strange song. I feel like pulling out the maracas and doing a little dance when I hear it. The lyrics are shit and very try hard for the most part... although there are some cool songs on the album. Hot Fuss blitzes this album.

It is a good album, maybe if you listen to it you would agree with him.

I'm not saying it's not. But after one listen, and saying a song from it is the best of the year is obviously not something I'm going to agree with.

What. The. Heck?

Best song on the album.

I was listening to triple J a while ago and even the superrequest programmer said she didn't like the last few songs, and triple J would never critcise anything even if it was horseshit. IMO that's really saying something.
