Until we learn to defend to at last a reasonable standard we won't be winning the title.
Can beat everyone

Except this lot, WSW are the biggest bogey team ever imo, have we ever gained a point at Pirtek FWIW? Always seem to remember to lose to them up there and the finals will be played up there also you'd think.

Bridge and Nichols are ordinary footballers imo, yet they always seem to run amok every time they play us, whatever team they're playing for

That was incredibly frustrating to watch. Amazing that a few flashes of brilliance by Mooy and then finishing by Harry then Bruno then Paartalu had us right in it. We were thoroughly outplayed and maybe losing Kisnorbo did more damage than meets the eye. Our defence looked to be a mess all night.

Our girls were supposed to steamroll Brisbane Roar last week but that never happened. Larger crowds than normal maybe making some of the youngies nervous. Still think we should win though.

Melbourne City 2-1 Sydney FC
I think last week was all nerves, knowing it was do or die, kind of reminded me of Geelong prelim of '07. Hoping for a similar result 6-1 lol, but I'm thinking 3-1

Final Score Melbourne City 4 - 1 Sydney FC

Goals to Jennifer Beattie, Kim Little, Beattie Goad and Lisa De Vanna.

Kim Little named Player of the Match.

Good:
  • An absolute dominant display of the ladies.
  • Kim Little's free kick goal was class; rock paper scissoring for it perhaps less so

Bad:
  • Still haven't worked out what the penalty against was for
  • Presentation dias being set-up facing away from the spectators. Players were presented their medals to the empty side of the stadium
  • Getting sunburnt :(
Ugly:
  • David Gallop, booed off the park.

I didnt understand why the presentation dais was facing the other way. TV cameras I'm guessing

With under 5000 there, can be the only explanation.

Excellent display by our undefeated champs.

I haven't liked our defence much since we lost Connor Chapman- we will welcome his height, speed, class and steely resolve; not that far off they say- 5-6 weeks?

Good call. He was a big loss. Still a while off though. Hopefully back for the pointy end of the season.
