Just a few opinions on the heats, there are heapssss of dogs here that could win. Look at box records, early speed and value because their are plenty of things that if they get the front will stay there and the quality of other dogs means that will be paying $$$$$$$$$$.

DONT DO IT...Mantra Lad will struggle to place in the cup. I rekon he will win his heat but I don't think he has enough early speed to match it with other dogs that will qualify.

The Shootout was a four dog race so it was easy for him to round up the others (even though that included QL). A Melbourne Cup final will be full of speed, he won't be able to lead and it will be very hard for him to round up the best sprinters in Aus.

Also think about the poultry fixed odds the TAB is offering especially for the place. Keep in mind he has to win his heat (will be over $2) just to have a chance at placing in the final.

Therefore you are WAY better off to back him to win Thursday night and then back him to place if he makes the final for next week. This will probably pay $4 the place all up (twice as good as if you back him on fixed odds) also if he wins Thursday night (approx $2) and next week (around $5 depending on the boxes and who else qualifies) you can get $8-10 for the overall win.

Yeah but if it goes around Thursday at $1.80 and wins and even if it wins the final say paying $4 and $1.70 for the place. Then if you back it to win the heat and then put on the winnings there EW in the final you will get $7.20 for the win and $3 for the place.

So by doing this you WILL get better odds when the final comes around if you take this approach. In saying this I don't think it will win the cup but if you do want to back it you will be better off doing it the above way.

But by all means if you want to get ripped off taking $6 and $2 for the final that it isnt even in yet then go for your life champion.

I rate Made to Size as a great chance.

Its all a great unknown, but i highly doubt it was a masking agent as it swabs. There are many drugs that are used for theraputic purposes that swab. It is a drug that a lot of trainers use to help their chargers pee after a hard run.

HAHAHAHA Yeah your right rob. I ended changing my mind after a few beers and decided to just go first 4's so pretty much forget what i wrote!.

I got the first two First 4's , both paid over $400. I didnt have 100% of course!. Just got nutted by about a head in the last race so i didnt get that one.

But ive been able to beef up the quaddie a bit which is always good!.

So the quaddie is 1,4,5,6,8 / 2,3,5,8 / 1,2,4,6 / 5,7,8 $24 for 10%. Im hoping the outsiders keep getting up!.
