The midfield gets smashed like some yuppie’s avocado breakfast. And the solution is ‘play Fyfe more in the forward line’.

We lack marking forwards to take a grab or bring the ball to ground. Solution send the player with the most contested marks last year to play defensive side of the ball to clear out the forward line for... kerstin?

We need more run and carry of the backline. Solution pick a player who delivers 5 clangers, 0 tackles and 0 contested marks. But drop the best defender we had last year.

Dear Lord the season is going to suck if we continue as we started.

Yep, seeing Tabs & Cam in the back line made it clear we weren’t playing for respect. We were trying to not get don’t by the same as last year.

Sadly RTB is lost it IMO. Every convo I hear about him changing technology in the box, coaches and role allocation just re enforces how far he has gone away from his self belief.

He stopped backing himself in after 2014. Very open to being wrong but for mine, if he has not been able to at least get our “connection” to our fwds sorted by now he never will.

I’m gutted.

Man i'm really curious as to how much you watched him at Peel that last year he was on our list, and what you saw in him. Because I caught quite a few games that year, and he was really wholly unspectacular. Possies tended to lack impact, and clearly lacked the impact and talent that you could see when guys like Clancee and Crozier played down there.

I really don't mean to be snide but I frankly would have been more upset had we played Menegola over those guys, and even Jacob Ballard who was probably more consistent in the middle for Peel. He's a good player, he plays a role that clearly works for Geelong. But he didn't show that here, he didn't deserve the games, and he has literally said that the de-listing was the thing that gave him the kick up the arse.

We are woeful there but I'd rather be **** their and decent at the MCG than the other way around. Doesn't matter how well you play AO if you cant win at the MCG.
