I came on and made a great spoil, which is apparently against the rules. I then took a mark, which was apparently involving physical contact with the opponent, also against the rules.

I proceded to just tag players after they had the ball, since apparently that's all a defender is allowed to do.

Yeah AFL 9s is pretty soft. More like netball then football . You should check out Footy Nines, full contact, Marking contests permitted , more like real footy and pretty fun to play . www.footynines.com

The name change and colour change would have been enough for me and my family to stop supporting the club. I remember I had dad help me write the club a letter when I was about 10.
