It will be a hard ask, but if we manage to get a victory in the next two weeks we keep our season alive. Carlton away will be a tougher assignment IMO, but the boys should be pretty fresh (2 home games in a row).

Saying that I think from history we usually play pretty poorly the week after derby week. West Coast have been in superb form at home so the victory should not be underestimated. The players are starting to back themselves and you can feel the confidence growing.

However the Blues and Hawks will probably finish top 4, so I am not sure if we have the cattle to match them, buit if we play 4 quarters with the intensity we have shown in the last 2 weeks then anything is possible.

I just really hope that we be competitive.

A tough ask, but if we match Carlton in the midfield, then we can win the match. I think our backline is starting to improve, and we've got a number of different attacking options, that should trouble their defence.

As for Hawthorn, they haven't set the world on fire yet, so perhaps we are a chance.

In both cases, we do really need to match the intensity of last weeks game, and the 2nd half of the derby, as well being willing to take on the zone.

I still have low expectations for us this season. We've been terrible for all but a quarter against Adelaide, a game against Sydney and a half against West Coast. Better opponents have destroyed us in our lapses.

I think we will improve on our start to the season, but I'm not expecting many wins.

Winning creates confidence.
Carltank have lost the last two in a row, and we have won.
Its at a neutral venue, and our kids are starting to play really well.
As well as our midrange players, they are stepping up Schammer, Peake, Mundy against Synney etc.
Its a 50/50 IMO !!

Agree with what your saying Sumavich, but with our injury list growing every week with this weeks casualty being Crowley (our number 1 tagger) it is going to extremely hard to match up on Cartltons mids. It would be great to have Crowley, Palmer, Mayne, Headland and Ballantyne to choose from this week to help create better matchups agaisnt Carlton but we don't. It will be about us putting thebest side possible together and just hoping it all clicks on the day.

Well, that's been happening !!
Our stoppage work is better by 100% from three weeks ago. We won't have travelled for 3 weeks, and its at a neutral venue.
Carlton have won twice there, and lost three.
If it was in Melbourne I wouldn't be confident, but seeing it is at a neutral ground I reckon its 50/50 !
De Boer could be a tagger I reckon.
He's a tough little nut !! Put him on Judd I reckon, baptism of fire !!
And if that doesn't work, Byron can step up.
Ya gotta believe, unlike me at half time on Saturday !!

Neutral ground accepted. I think we need to look at travelling too. Although they are a bit better of late, Carlton don't seem to travel too well. Since 2005 they've travelled 18 times and only won 4 of those.

We one the other hand travel regularly...although our recent record is a bit bad.

Additionally a bit of nice warm Gold Coast sun should cheer the lads up..and toast Carlton a bit.

I'm going to tip Freo again this week.

Going to be a very tough road trip...Just hope we keep on the improvment road and keep up intensity for 4 quarters. Stranger things have happened though!

Fremantle have never won in Queensland... ever! How's that for a monkey on the back?

Tell me about it :(

I'll be there in the members this week with just about everything purple (including purple afro and jesters hat) in my major overcompensation for never getting to see them live! Not expecting much and to be honest it will be a miracle to be in it in the last quarter but will still be cheering loudly!

To be honest I'm not expecting anything from the next couple of weeks, an honest go with full intensity and I'll be happy.

Carlton have never won in Madagascar! - Dont know why I said it, guess I was bored.

I'm with the gravy train - Carlton will destroy us if we play like the first half against WCE.

Good match coming up v the Blues..we beat them in the pre-season game, hopefully we can see a repeat..very important we win away from Subiaco early now that we have 2 wins a row..the confidence of the boys are high no doubt, just keep playing like they have been in the past 2 games i'll be happy...need to start off strong v the Blues just like we did v Sydney.:thumbsu:

I'd say 5-7 wins will be about the mark. However if we keep doing what we're doing a bit more often we may surprise a few and snag a couple more.

If you are meaning total wins for the season that seems very pessimistic. 3 more wins for the year would be pretty much a disaster, and 5 more wins would be acceptable but just in my opinion. We've already shown that the list is nowhere near as bad as people had thought, and while we do have a long injury list we also have the prospect of quite a few of those being available for the second half of the season.

I think it's lucky for you this game will be played at a neutral venue. If it was at Docklands we would absolutely flog you but anything can happen at these smaller places.

Not luck at all. If you didn't flog your games off to someone else you guys may be bankrupt and out of the competition. It's luck for you that someone thought it was worth paying to have Carltank play a game, even if it is in the boondocks.
