Will it define where we are at as a football club?

Before the Swans game one would think that Carlton and possibly Essendon were gettable over the next few weeks. But now who can with any great confidence think that?

Come Round 10 we meet Richmond.

Worst case scenario come into the Richmond game 1 and 8 and get rolled by the Tigers. Then shit will be hitting the fan.

Conversely best case scenario we are 4 and 6 after 10 rounds and it could be argued we are heading in the right direction.

As I’m a Doom and Gloom kind of guy I think the worst case scenario is on the cards but I don’t want this to be the case.

Where will be at after Round 10? :stern look
When are we likely to hit 69 losses under Clarko?

I think Carlton and Essendon are definitely winnable, Port is gettable if they are still in their malaise in three week's time, but I'm not sure about Gold Coast and Brisbane, the Suns have looked really solid to date and Brisbane are the defending premiers and while not playing as well as September last year still look a few rungs above us. It would be a huge if we could beat them though.

If we are 2 and 7 going into the Richmond game and the Tigers knock us over I reckon the heat will still be on. I can’t see it being a good look losing to a team that moved on a number of their Premiership players, most in their prime, the year previous. :stern look
If we are 2-7 and lose to Richmond in a convincing manner then just blow it all up.

I won't give two shits by then.

The club will be under seige like never before, excluding trying to ship us off...

Ah man. Ths win was so sweet a few weeks ago. I am a die hard north fan, started in 1997. I'm 36. I want to see us do well. On my day, 23rd march, I asked for a win, they gave us one. Felt divine. Now... frustrating and unexplainable. Feel like tuning out again. It's so hard.

The next few weeks rest solely on the hamstrings of Wardlaw.

He is the difference, he brings energy vim and vigour .
But yes didn't mean we win, we could easily have only one win heading into the tigers clash.

FFS and fml

I would have thought 3 of our next 5 are winnable. Carlt, Ess and Richmond. The problem is clubs know what it takes to beat us and instead of becoming a team that clubs take lightly ala Richmond, Weagles, we have become a team that clubs will try extra hard to smash. We really need to find the ability to stand up. As Clarko has said, we want to be in games for longer and we are kind of there. We just need to find 4 quarters in us.

The trouble is, we will find the 4 quarters but they will be stretched over the 3 upcoming games...

The result went as expected. 1 week down. 5 weeks to go into this block of games. Big game against Carlton coming up. Lose and it’s not looking good. :stern look
This will be interesting. Blues are a very good defensively and we are poor defensively. We have scored more.
I think the Port game will be more difficult in SA and the * game is a 5 day break. We need to get this one imo.

Hi Petrie4PM,
I'm 78 and have been a North supporter for 74 years (38 years consecutive member). I simply want at least one season where we make the 8 before I fall off the perch. The team is certainly frustrating and unexplainable. We have a talented list but many are young and developing. Getting their arse kicked every week for 5-6 years is not a good developmental environment.

Recently our backline has been dysfunctional although they aren't getting much help from our mid field and forwards.
Our mid field has talent but just doesn't seem to be able to put it together regularly and the forward line lacks cohesion.

As has been highlighted on many posts - we are poor at laying successful tackles, seem to make fundamental errors under little pressure and I don't see what our game plan is supposed to be.

Still I turn up each week.

If we can't win 3 games this season, I can't see how Clarkson can remain as coach for 2026.

Interesting point. This will either stand us in good stead if we can ever get over the hurdle of CONSISTENTLY SUCKING or keep us permanently entrenched in CONSISTENTLY SUCKING. Either way we are in store for a decent stretch of CONSISTENTLY SUCKING

Haha. Glimpses mean sweet FA. This is a professional competition. The only way we can play anything resembling quality football is if the opposition doesn't turn up. Once there's a bit of pressure on us we are cooked, done, gone, arrividerci, come stai, bene grazie.......
I mean those glimpses as they’re so rare could just be the opposition temporarily playing like absolute shit.

Not counting the Gold Coast game either as they were operating at about 20% that day.

I’m sorry. I’ve been excited by those glimpses and have found it fascinating that people haven’t thought this. 😵‍💫

Sneaky Zondor, starting a thread whilst on ignore for several users :stern look

30-70 chance against the Bloos and two-three (or perhaps four) of umpires #3, #13, #15, #19, #25, #31, #34, #37, #42, and #43. Umpire #17 on notice. Is it seriously that much to ask that we be treated with some level of respect in our marquee game?

0, zilch, nada chance against Poort

40-60 chance against Bummers

0 chance against Brian

45-55 against Richmonds at the MCG.

As a result of the scientific process of arse-number-pulling, I've deduced the following:

4-6 lol - 0%

3-7 best case - 15%

2-8 likeliest case - 45%

1-9 basket case - 40%

Fair arse-number-pulling analysis zoomba. As for having anybody on ignore on this forum well LOL. Are people that easily upset or disturbed or whatever by reading the musings of others?

Think about it. “I need to have so and so on ignore.” “I can’t stand that poster.” “But I like reading the views of others because I’m inclusive” “Oh but the game day thread was started by someone who I have on ignore.” “I can’t help but now read what should be ignored.” Weak minded hypocrites I say. Hopefully your curiosity got the better of you and you clicked whatever is that button you read ignored content so the truth can state you in the face. :stern look

Yup. It’s not looking good. A few weeks back some suggested that the Carlton game was winnable. Sadly it looks as if we won’t win a game until we meet the Tigers in Round 10. And the natives are getting restless now. Lose the Richmond game and Bhoy oh NorthBhoy. What then? :stern look
