Crowds are up this season and so are TV audiences, but trust CA to think it needs to fix its product by bringing in gimmicky rules which serve no purpose whatsoever.

If anything, they should be trying to entice more top-line players from other countries to the competition and ensuring more of the test side plays for their respective clubs.
This.

Seems like the BBL is trending upwards after a decline just prior to COVID. No need to touch much tbh, but ensure the test players get a proper stint, and ensure there is suitable international talent available.

Yep. Although I still think 6 teams with a bigger salary cap playing each other twice is the best model for fairness and talent depth. Should also allow sponsors to pay for imports outside the salary cap.

These pitches in Pakistan look dicey. Preparing absolute raging turners with poly tunnels and heated fans for a series against the powerhouse that is the West Indies.

They won the first Test but now it looks to have backfired as Pakistan have been bowled out for a slight deficit.

Pakistan went in with three spinners, a spinning all rounder and a 30yo medium pacer on debut. Pitch doctoring really goes to another level on the subcontinent.

They had the West Indies 8-54 and still trail on first innings.

No. 9, 10 & 11 had the top three scores of 55, 25 & 36*
7-38 or something at one point too. Bonkers to think you can finish the first innings ahead after being rolled like that early

Pakistan gon pakistan

Will the poms ever learn?

People rag on about BBL umpires but that's shocking from the umpires there. Diabolically amatuer. And what the **** does Andy Flower think he's doing? If I was Pooran I'd be absolutely livid.

How could over have possibly been called if the ball is still in motion from the throw?

And all the gold in those uniforms. Ew.

Up the ****ing Canes
**** the Stars. I hope they continue their perpetual cycle of looking unbeatable all year only to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory every finals series for the rest of time.

I hope the Canes win tonight purely so it leaves the Stars as the only side to have never won the thing.

Not sure why I dislike them so much but their consistent failure brings me joy.

I used to hate the stars too. They’re like the Carlton of the BBL.

But I would take a stars win over a Sydney one. Moot point now cos they’re shit and will never taste success

For me it goes back to when they first started the BBL and the Stars were owned by Eddie McGuire. Gave them a real Collingwood stench, which wasn't helped by the fact they kept choking in finals despite buying up our players (Voges, Stoinis, NCN etc...).

Everyone likes seeing the arrogant teams fail.

Sangha throwing his wicket away the ball before the surge is the type of dumb mistake that costs you trophies.

He batted very well but gee he remains a frustrating player.

Getting Owen early will be key.
