What were our numbers like for round 1 2009?

Isn't it obvious? It's the post Browny blues (eyes).

Last year our membership declined from the year before it.

This year, they've declined from last year.

The only logical solution is to bring back Browny!

a non-stefi Graph for you all:

we're tracking nearly 1000 below last years figure.
If we go at the same rate as the last 2 years, we'll add another 2000 members by next friday.

Well I'm a little disappointed with our staff. I called on Sunday to renew my membership. No one there understandably so I left a message giving all my details and how I want to renew my menbership (Adult 11). It is now Tuesday arvo and no contact yet from them.

I thought they would be all over that answering machine on Monday morning and on to me in a heartbeat.

It is disappointing pooley but have you phoned them again today? That way you renew and you can also raise your concern in the hope the situation is rectified in the coming very important weeks.

Don't mean this as a personal attack but is there some reason you can't go to the north web site and click on the big banner and just renew online?

A very dissapointing tale in deed, but hardly surprising. Seems like the club has a long way to go on the membership front. However, I'd urge you to be proactive on this occasion as we just can't afford any other attitude, given the importance of it.

I am hopful that Eugene knows about the shortcomings of the membership department and we will get it right by next sesaon.

EH I would not go jumping to any conclusions of incompetence by anyone at this stage- I am absolutely certain that the membership dept. will be doing everything in their power to sort this matter out.

I don't think I have jumped to any conclusions in my post. Simply stated the fact, that given my own experience this year, coupled with some stories here on bigfooty, it does appear that our membership department has some improvements to do. I also said however, that it doesn't mean people should be using it as an excuse not to sign up when the club needs them on board.

Hopefully any discontent you have had has been officially passed onto the club for their attention- it is one thing to post problems one has had with the membership dept on BF and quite another to take the time to officially inform the club about them.
Hopefully pooley took the time, as I hope you have, to officially contact the club to inform them of any concerns you have with the membership dept.

It is a bit like eating at a bad restaurant and whingeing about it after you leave but not telling the owners so they can be given a chance to rectify their problems.
Feedback direct to the main source is the only hope of ever having problems rectified.

Pooley - Can I suggest you call again, or else join up online? I'm not making excuses for them, but the membership telethon was on last week, and my mail is that they've taken a lot of calls over the weekend. I doubt yours has been lost, but it would be better to be sure.

Re: anyone who has had trouble with membership:

If you are still waiting to pay, or receive your membership (and you haven't heard in a while) a quick call or email may be a good idea. I understand there have been some problems this year - unfortunately - and while the club is doing what it can to fix them, it's also flat out selling more memberships (this is the busiest time of year).

If you've received your membership, but there was a problem, you should let someone know. If you've posted it here, they'll read it. If you want to give feedback, I suggest email - and make it clear you don't need a response right now - all their energies should be focused on selling now, sorting out immediate problems, and dealing with the other stuff when the demand dies down.

If you've received your membership, didn't have a problem as such, but feel strongly about some other aspect of membership, again I would email it to the club, or post it in the membership ideas thread, or here, or on Facebook, or whatever. I am positive the club cares about this issue, wants to solve it, and is looking at it very closely.

And if you don't want to post, or email, PM me and I will compile issues and pass them on.

I got my membership pack, only says member for 6 years on the card, I guess we didn't have computers in 85. I got an email after renewing online that the card they sent me had the bar code activated so I can use that. Got another card with this package. I wonder if both work. We do need to clean up the process, shouldn't have been any dramas via an online renewal, but not the end of the world. I'll just annoy the people at TD to figure out which one works.

KL I empathise with Pooley completely and have the same stance that EH has. The membership department is non existent. The fact were behind last years total, apparently all in the same building using the same resources and have hired our own staff- the same problems are still there. Im appalled someone from the club has not come on here and explained why we suck. Customer service guys. The club just keeps failing at it. You hardly hear how the club looked after a member, got them the package they wanted and delivered it in enough time. Were paying for a product, yet were getting it in an average way. Im in the view that our membership department is run by a bunch of clowns and that were all treated as jokes. Pathetic by our club. Starting to lose faith in the admin for the first time in that they cant run the club.

I am sure they are listening/reading and looking at ways on how to improve, unless you got a magic wand in your membership package there isn't anything they can wave to fix it instantaneously.
