I'd be surprised if <something about sport science>^ I'd be surprised if Laycock could recite the 2011 back line off the top of her head!

Why is this?
The election will not be decided by one vote, therefore who you voted for wont actually influence anything. That is the truth.
If you can lobby a group or block of people to vote a certain way, that may have a small chance of having an influence.
But your own vote - pointless.

It was merely a dig at Old Skool's comment implying CC is too wet behind the ears (below).Would you really? Why, because she's a woman? Or because she's in marketing? Or because she's new? Genuinely interested to know what you'd assume she couldn't identify the current backline.
I stuck by the current admin.
The new lass has an impressive CV, but I don't know if she could recite the 1950 grand final back line off the top of her head.
If she persists, she will make the cut one day.

What makes you believe that Laycock understands the historical essence any better?Caroline certainly presents as an impressive young lady but I tend to be initially apprehensive when it comes to yielding control of something precious to youth and ambition.
I am a 4th generation supporter, born in Racecourse Rd Flemington, the grand son of a former player and the son of a Newmarket Saleyards slaughteman. I need to be convinced that young people moving in to positions of power at the club, understand the historical essence of the NMFC. The very thing that has sustained us all these years.
I might have to invite Caroline out for a couple of pots.

Caroline's family are all North people - her grandparents had a shop in North Melbourne which started the connection, so they have been good North people for a long time!
My Grandad had a shop on Errol St.
I take it I have your support for my board run next year?
I'd have made that assumption. Because I've read nothing regarding her passion for football or the North Melbourne football club in particular.
Ie - if Hawthorn approached her with the same board opportunity and networking potential I'd assume she'd have taken that up instead.
Yeah, sure.
I'm not, by the way, here to spruik one candidate over another - we're all grown ups (well, those of us who can vote in this election are), and we can all make up our own minds. I just don't think it's fair to make assumptions based on thin air.

Perhaps you should have a pot with her too.
I assume she was asking for your vote based on her credentials rather than her passion, but I take your point.
I've met Julie, and I can confidently say she would not have taken the same offer from any other club. She may have only been here for six years, but she's made a clear football choice. And personally I'm delighted to welcome her into the NMFC family.
There are some later posts that suggest that you really need many family generations to be on the North Melbourne board. I think that's a bit sad. My husband and kids have only lived in Australia for 8 years, but they are every bit as passionate about North as I am.

FWIW, I have voted for the two women. I just felt that the energy and passions of CC would add something to the board, as well as her knowledge of the club and its culture. Laycock adds fresh blood and much needed marketing knowledge. Nothing against our QC there, but I felt there is enough of legal knowledge at the club already, with our CEO in particular, and the need for fresh blood and fresh ideas is of more importance right now IMHO.
Old Skool,
the status quo has only been together for one solitary board meeting.
Speak for yourself. :stern lookI'm not, by the way, here to spruik one candidate over another - we're all grown ups (well, those of us who can vote in this election are), ......
Because the position is voluntary and dependant on people giving up their private time, I think passion has a valid weighting alongside credentials.
