Yeah there was standard NBA NON-playoffs D…I think you’re a division rival who tends to wish the worst on Dallas (the feeling is mutual btw 😉) but both teams just made crazy shots

there were some wide open looks made by Green because defence left him open (ie to let Gafford and Lively protect the rim like they do) but that was calculated, not poor

Luka and Curry especially hit absurd contested shots from deep and Wiggins, Klay, Hield and even Grimes were all just on from deep
lol my previous comment wasn’t a shot, I was generally curious as I didn’t watch the game, even in this take as many 3s as you want era there isn’t many games where the total score is 280+ from both teams.

But I’d assume one of two things either no defence or everyone was scorching hot from the three.

Sounds like they've amazingly managed to make the all star game even less appealing...
They need to stop mucking around with it, these guys only care about money, We have seen with the IST that they are happy to play extra meaningless games for money. Go back to East/West and chuck a decent prize pool to the winner, only way to get them playing harder.

Dip my hat to Doc, he’s turned it around.
Dame & Giannis also working better together as well but Doc's rotations & floor lineups have improved dramatically.

Giannis is easily the best two-way player in the NBA. Jokic is much better offensively but Giannis on defense is an animal.

Not sure that's the reason. $125k for the winner of the all-star game (1 game). $500k for the winner of the IST (which takes several games to win).

There would be team pride for the IST. No one cares about All Star teams.

I don't think there is any way the all star game could have gotten any less interesting so I am all for changes in any form.

I think the multi team 40 point target games is a good enough idea. Gives a clear 'win', some of them will want to win enough for the sake of winning.

And how about my new idea, run the skills challenge, 3 point contest and dunk contest all at the same time on both ends of the floor. Shit be flying everywhere.

I still think it’s simple

East vs West

Winner gets home court advantage in the Final best of 7 series for their conference . That’s a very big basketball incentive to play for
Not sure I like that, imagine the Celtics for example go on to win 65 games and don’t have home court and the thunder do who win 55 for example just because of an All star game.

Must be nice knowing you can do s*** like this and not be called for a foul lol

Not to mention the 25 travels a game

This was what, 5 or 6 days ago.

I don't mind that they called the foul for Houston, anything above the shoulders or in the back should be a foul, even in the anarchy that is loose ball situations. But you can't call this, and then not call Giannis.

Wouldn't make a difference to the result, but if the Houston call was correct - and they've since ratified that is was 'the correct call' - then that's how it should be called for the rest of the season. My bet is it won't.

Call was terrible. Particularly 3 seconds after someone jumps on Payton's back.

Not blaming it for the loss btw, our play down the stretch was horrendous.

It's terrible in the context of what is called, or not called, the rest of the time, certainly.

In a vacuum though IMO any contact above the shoulders should be a foul, they let way too much go during loose ball situations. Compared to how tightly they call the rest of play it's ridiculous.

Dubs have a legitimate gripe in that it's barely ever called though. Either it's a foul or it's not. Can't call it that one time, tick off on it in review, and then ignore it the other 99 times it happens.

They all make $50m a year + endorsements. How much money are you gonna need to make them play harder?

Well it seems to be the only thing they care about? It is that or just accept the games going to suck. They need an incentive to try or we will just keep copping that crap.
