I know it seems rough but it’s better to have it all happen at once rather than have 1 player out at a time for the next 3 years…at least now the Magic can get a lottery pick and get some developmental minutes into young or fringe players…it worked for Memphis 🤷‍♂️

Not even sure that's an option tbh. Paolo and Franz are supposedly due back later in the season, Suggs is not long term.

Besides even if they were to tank, 18 wins already puts them out of a shot at a top-5 pick. Realistically this will end up dropping them from a top-4 spot in the East to the play-ins. Silver lining is that they have shown they have strong depth now, as you said, same as Memphis.

Deadset what's going on up there ?

Combination of things.

I thought they should've held off on shooting their shot on DeRozan until a better fitting player became available. He's been OK-ish, but hasn't moved the needle at all.

Most of their shooters have been in a slump, foremost among them Keegan Murray. Huerter has been poor, period. Their bench outside Keon Ellis has been equally poor.

Also IMO they're running too much through Fox, they'd be better off utilising Sabonis more. His usage is below 22, which is not only way below Fox's at 30, but also behind DDR and Monk's too.

Thought Derozen was a good pick that would help them be in that top 5-6 teams but similar to the Wolves it's just not happening for them.

He just doesn’t fit with what made them good. It was Fox/Sabonis surrounded by 3pt shooters.

Murray and Huerter are down at like 30% from 3 on the season and then no Barnes as well who was another good spot up shooter for them.
