Banners can play for Peel with Omera

If we are dinkum about winning a premiership then these guys who are c minus at best need to give way to NOD and Erasmus plus Bolton will be playing.

If we don't give these guys game time over banners we will never develop into a genuine threat

A lot can change in ten months, but if I'm picking a side for a final now I'm going with JOM or Banfield over Erasmus. You need some big bodies and experience, Erasmus will be a fringe player barring injury next season IMO then become a regular in 2026.

That's no good if Erasmus is regular elsewhere in 2026.

That's exactly what'll be most likely (if he is to become an AFL regular) if he doesn't get the opportunities he requires in 2025.

Why the **** would Erasmus stay if he gets 3-4 games again? He just won't - simple as that.

Aish, Walters and Fyfe will all retire next year, possibly JOM too. That opens doors for 2026.

If Erasmus would rather go up the road and be bottom 4 for 3 years than be at a contender then that's his call.

If he gets 3 or 4 games next year and he can't cement a spot chances are he's Ryley Dunn, Cam Sutcliffe, etc and never will become a good AFL player.

Of course he may get a game next year and get 30 and 2 and cement a spot. I hope he does but his AFL appearances to date have been underwhelming.

Walters and Aish don’t play remotely the same position as he does.

Erasmus getting subbed in the Essendon game was a borderline disgrace - if sh**e like that happens again he’s gone. Gotta say though if he doesn’t lift what he did in most other AFL games this year he’d be no loss though - he was decent at worst that game he was subbed though. Was probably in the top two thirds of players for the team that day, we needed an inside mid playing the exact role he was playing and JL subbed him. Going a bit far maybe but that move may have cost us finals.

If Erasmus can’t get past Banfield or JOM by the end of next season for a spot his freo career will be over anyway.
A top 10 pick at the end of his 4th year should well and truly have left the likes of Bailey in the rear view mirror, in the overall pecking order.

Ras has earned a decent crack at a senior spot in 2025 just from his WAFL form. His AFL career so far has basically been the sub or a few games and out again. All players are better from a 4-5 game block and he needs that to adjust to the pace, his biggest weakness. If he doesn't perform after that, then sure, he can go back to the WAFL but there is no way I'm not giving him that opportunity in 2025.
