You're right, we should completely ignore his role in the Essendon saga and his conflict of interests there.
We should overlook the repeated jobs for the boys issues. We should overlook that he requested someone be sacked and then didn't bat an eyelid when they were re-employed at another club. We should overlook the fact we are headed for an equalisation policy that will actually give no incentive for the less financial clubs to improve their business models. We should overlook the corporate junket that the AFL Grand Final has become at the fans expense.

And last of all, we should overlook the arrogance, disdain and general lack of interest Demetriou has for the actual game of football and its followers and its grassroots breeding ground. But other than that, he's doing fantastically well.
