Hey, here is the way that i think we should line up next year:

R: Troy Simmonds

R/R: Mark Coughlan

RV: Nathan Foley

B: Jake King - Will Thursfield - Luke McGuane

HB: Joel Bowden (VC) - Graham Polak - Chris Newman

C: Jordan McMahon - Kayne Johnson (C) - Richard Tambling

HF: Brett Deledio - Cleve Hughes - Jack Reiwoldt

F: Kayne Pettifer - Mathew Richardson - Nathan G. Brown (VC)

INTER: Adam Pattison - Dean Polo - Andrew Raines - Shane Tuck -
No. #2 Draft Pick - Mitch Morton - Daniel Conners

They should be the 25 that are most commonly picked from in my opinion. I put 7 Intershange players and no Emergancies because that would be picked from a week to week or a fortnightly basis.

(instead of just critisying other teams please post your own)

The only thing OFFICIAL about this topic is that it is wasting space.

just to give this topic (and all the other similar ones to follow) some sort of perspective i hearby give my thoughts on the starting lineup for the Tiges in the year 2583.

HB Greenedge Appleby Cartright
C Benol Reams Sohouli
HF Wakaman Didi Desouza

Unless I'm reincarnated in the year 2583 I won't be watching that side play.:D

U missed richo in his 104000th game

on paper that team isn't too bad...

its just when the young kids have a bad day it will get messy...and thats normal for all

your defensive talls are going to hold their position for 10+ years with thursfield mcguane and polak looking settled

if only nafen was able to stick around for 5+ years instead of a few and that team could challenge in september in a year or two

all the best

If Hughes is in our starting 22 then we are headed for another wooden spoon:thumbsdown:

The only thing that hughes would be in the starting 22 is at all boys night club lol. Other then that he could not care less about anything else. Delist him asap

Backs: King , Bowden , McGuane

H/Backs: Newman (Vice Capt) , Thurstfield , Tuck

Center: Tambling , Connors , McMahon

H/Forward: Brown , Polak , Johnson

Forward: Deledio , Richo , Pettifer

Ruck : Simmonds R/Rover : Jackson Rover : Foley (Capt)

Bench : Coughlan , Moore , Edwards , Pattison

Emergency's : Polo, Riewoldt, Tivendale, Shultz, Morton, No 2 Pick ,PSD1

And people don't think we are on track , we are looking like we've got depth for injured players. Sure we will still get beaten by Geelong and the likes but we are going to win some great games next year. I predict 8 - 10

While I'm not going to make a best 22, i will note what i would like to see as far as changes to players games this year:

- Chris Newman moving up onto the wing to play as a defensive midfielder who can both sweep the ball out of our defensive 50 and give good delevery foward aswell as kick those booming goals

- Kayne Pettifer not to be run in the midfield unless he is really struggerling. Wallace seems as though he thinks he can play Pettifer in the centre square when he is having a good match, but he is much more effective leading into the flanks or pockets

- Simmonds to ruck then go foward. Simmo is getting on and we need to prolong his career by getting him to ruck the centre taps then going up foward as an extra tall. Pattison should then come on and ruck in the defensive half of the ground.

- If Tuck and Deledio are struggerling in the midfield, send them both foward as they are both 189cm and are dangerous around goals - Deledio for his marking, Tuck for his crumbing and ability to take the ball out of the ruck and snap for goal

- Polak be made an acocampaignerable defender in the Pre-Season so that Bowden doesn't have to take the Gurillas. If this doesn't work out, I would like to see him moved at to CHF because he would be more useful there rather then loose behind the ball, which is what Wallaces prize recuit McMohan will probably do this year.

- Raines to take the number 1 small foward. Raines was made to play above his weight devision this year but Polak, Thurstfield, McGuane, Bowden and Moore should have to take the talls first. I think Raines has potential to become a really solid accountable small defender.

- Kane Johnson to go back to the half back flank/pocket which is where he started at the Crows. Jake King to start on the opponents best player, but has to work on his undisiplined acts. Jackson/Tivendale (theres only room for one) to take the second best player. We then go man on man for everyone else as with Cogs back and perhapes a Neville/Collard/Morton/Cotchin we will have more depth

- Browny to prolong his career by staying in the foward line, with less on ball time

- Tambling, Morton, Edwards and Conners rotate through the HFF and on the ball

- Players not to be bought in from Coburg after 1 good match, but rather have to show form over 3 or 4 straight weeks, ala Schultz kicking bags of 3-5 for a few weeks to be selected over Riewoldt or Hughes.

Yeah good post Richo's Guns - Not sure about Johnson going into the backline. Im not really that happy with his decision making and execution. It would be good to see quick and or highly skilled players running out of the backline. I think a back line with a combination of Bowden, McMahon, King, Newman, Thursfield, Polak, McGuane, Raines will be very exciting. I would also like to see Joel Bowden played a little more through the middle. Perhaps you could swap Johnson and Bowden at times and also the inclusion of McMahon should allow this. If Cogs can find some form and our Key defenders put some weight on over summer i think we could push for top 8. Top 10 realistic.

I got the feeling that Raines and King would play more round the middle of the ground next year. King is a proven ball getter and is hard at it he could cause some real problems with his ferocity at the ball

Emerg: #2 Draft pick, Petersen, Tuck, Raines, Casserly, and anyone else.;)

Providing all players are full fit and in form i would go
Backs: Raines Thustfield McGuane
Half Back: Bowden Polak King
Center: Johnson Coglan McMahon
Half Forward: Petifer Richo Morton
Forward: Tambling Schulz/Reiwolt Brown
Ruck: Simmonds Foley Deledio
Interchange: Polo, Jackson/Tivendale, Tuck, pattison
Emergancies: Edwards, Conners, Morton, schulz/reiwolt

Actually reasonably hard to do. We really need one of Schulz, hughes or Reiwolt to step up over the preseason. Make or break year for schulz and hughes i feel, only one will be on the list next year i think, if that.

King Thursfield Newman
Mcmahon Bowden Mcguane
Tambling Cogs Morton
Pettifer Polak Deledio
Riewoldt Richo Brown

Simmonds
Foley
Polo

Edwards Tuck Pattison Cotchin Raines Johnson
HOPEFULLY JON MEYER JACKSON CONNORS CAN ALL KNOCK ON THE DOOR

Let me ask this question:

Is Mitch Morton in our best 22?

I mean as small fowards, we have Pettifer and Brown who are much superior to Morton, plus we are still developing Edwards and even Tambling...maybe on the bench, but not in the starting 18 imo

I'm from the future. Chin tore his ACL in yesterdays match against West Coast Eagles but we still won 2.11.12.96 to 1.12.7.88. Sohouli starred with 2 nine pointers and Spam outlasted Dean "Big" Cox XXII in the ruck. Chin's ACL will go under the "magic laser" and will be running by Monday.
In other matches:
Gold Coast Kangaroos 1.15.18.117 def Tasmania Hawks 1.11.9.84
Geelong Cats 5.23.11.194 def Tankton Blues 0.1.19.25
(Carlton was renamed Tankton after their 500th wooden spoon. Tankton is based in tropical QLD)
Fremantle Dockers 1.13.8.95 drew Adelaide Crows 0.12.23.95
Collingwood Magpies 2.10.14.83 def Darwin Bulldogs 3.7.13.82

On this coming Sunday:
Port Adelaide Power vs West Sydney Demons
Essendon Bombers vs Brisbane Lions
Sydney Swans vs Newcastle Saints

Our 2583 team is f**king depolable from all accounts. Terry Wallace's great, great, great (etc.) grandson is chief coach and we have a whopping 3+ players over 185cm.

B: Jake King, Will Thursfield, Luke McGuane

HB: Jordan McMahon, Joel Bowden, Kane Johnson

C: Andrew Raines, Chris Newman, Shane Tuck

HF: Mitch Morton, Graham Polak, Kayne Pettifer

F: Nathan Brown, Matthew Richardson, Brett Deledio

R: Troy Simmonds, Nathan Foley, Mark Coughlan

INT: Adam Pattison, Kane Johnson, Richard Tambling, Shane Edwards

Very difficult. Especially since i know i left a few out.
The Side looks very strong in my opinion. Especially the forward line. :thumbsu:

Actually you added one twice. So one more can come in. Not sure after watching the capt 'butcher' the ball this year, we want him on the HBF. But could be worth a try getting Raines elsewhere. Also I don't think Newman is up for the centre...many have him on a wing though which could be the way to go if he is to move up the ground. Maybe Polo could come in?

I'd probably have Conners in for Kane Johnson II actually. And have Conners on the Back Flank also.

I think Newman's mature enough to be in the centre. Hes a beautiful kick, and a hard worker. I really think he'd handle it well. And its about time hes moved further up the ground as you've said.

Backs: McGaune Thurstfield King
Half Backs: Rains Polak McMahon
centre: Coughlan foley(vc) bowden (floting backman)
Half Forwards: Pettifar Richo(c) Deledio
Forwards: Edwards Riewoldt Tambling
Rucks: Simmonds Newman(vc) Tuck
Int: Pattison Morton Johnson Shultz

newman for vc hard worker and get him in the middle great kick hits target about 80% of the time
