Put the moz on him a fair bit for today but its big of him to admit he was wrong.
Very poor if true…
Everton chief executive 'put in headlock' leaving director's box | ITV News
This is thought to be part of a number of incidents which led to the club's board of directors being told to stay away from game | ITV News Granadawww.itv.com
The insinuation is that it never happened I think.Don’t understand that tweet. Ok if that’s accurate she was put in a headlock in the 3rd that’s a day before home game v Brighton. The article I quoted then says in separate incident she was surrounded in her car and spat at. Quite daunting for anyone let alone a lone female.
Article then states further death threats received along with a crowd barrier been thrown against glass wall in their last home game against Brighton. Southampton on the weekend of the 14th was their next home game. Not sure what the point of the tweet was as in between that time a security assessment recommended for them to not turn up

Depends on the club. I think they get this feeling that their club is turning plastic like United and Liverpool and that the fans at the games should be localsQuestion probably for moomba Chipmunk wadistance simba_ and I guess Bojan KantKick Bradesmaen as well as recent migrants.
I’ve seen this appear online on multiple clubs’ forums as well as social media over the years and saw it a lot again this morning and just simply don’t understand it. As someone growing up in an AFL state I have been to probably close to 200 games in my life at a guess. Been to live pro sport in cricket, golf, footy, rugby league, netball and basketball (seabl). Barring golf all of those are team sports where fans notionally support a club and cheer them on.
Not only have I never encountered segregation like we see all over the world in football but to my question, have never seen people whinge and moan about there being too many ‘tourist’ fans. Too many day trippers.
Can someone explain to me this mentality that exists particularly in English football, that their support as a rusted on local is aces but those visiting their club from abroad or watching their favourite player is somehow the work of the devil. Ruins atmosphere at the ground and gets scapegoated after losses. That grown adults can learn to despise those trying to enjoy their one opportunity to see their beloved reds, blues, foxes or latics in action.
I've heard a key reason for this is that the demand created by 'tourist fans' has made tickets expensive for localsQuestion probably for moomba Chipmunk wadistance simba_ and I guess Bojan KantKick Bradesmaen as well as recent migrants.

I don't think people who go to matches care about day trippers and I think you are conflating day trippers with tourists. Plenty of day trippers are season ticket holders. I don't get the chance to go up much and usually only do if one my day tripper mates can't use their season tickets. I don't mind tourists attending games although occasionally it can lead to a worse atmosphere in the stadium if there are loads of them in one area of the ground.Question probably for moomba Chipmunk wadistance simba_ and I guess Bojan KantKick Bradesmaen as well as recent migrants.

Probably a flaw in the club set prices model, but also a by-product of top flight European football also being weekly sell outs. Whatever tickets are available are at jacked up prices.I don't think people who go to matches care about day trippers and I think you are conflating day trippers with tourists. A lot of the 'bigger clubs' are from very working class areas being former shipyards or major cities in the industrial revolution which have generally struggled ever since. There used to be a lot of resentment towards tourists as they are partially responsible for driving ticket prices up making it too expensive for some fans to attend. This is exacerbated by the fact that football is like a religion here and some supporters live and die by their teams results and these are essentially community clubs.
If people were flying in to Melbourne, taking the train to Geelong and buying up all the tickets, raising prices at your ground so much that it became unaffordable to you, then you might be a tad pissed off. Most clubs support are still full of locals. Only Chelsea stand out in London at least as one club whose support is from all over the place, partially because the hardcore supporters have been priced out / banned.
The best thing the prem has done in years is cap away ticket prices which means that the die hards can still attend those games. It's the hardest ticket to get but if you get the chance, then go to an away game. Best atmosphere and great fun.

I think what you have eluded to is the commentary I have found and is what has me bemused. The tourist fans copping the blame for poor atmosphere and by extension contributing to a teams poor form. Saw it week or two back with Everton fans and thought it is hardly tourists fault they're in the drop zone. And saw it again this morning after we lost and thought how does less tourists stop the captain tipping the ball in his own net or suddenly make the manager adopt something entertaining.
I feel the same way when I see fans on here after games getting irate their players have been smiling and joking with their opposition players after a big defeat. Like that s**t matters. Them being serious isn't going to stop another 10 goal drubbing the next weekend.
Tourist fans can't even kick Ramsdale, that's how useless they are.Probably a flaw in the club set prices model, but also a by-product of top flight European football also being weekly sell outs. Whatever tickets are available are at jacked up prices.

I've never thought this to be the case. Good atmosphere with 90% of the stadium behind the team is worth a few goals a season I'm sure but teams around the relegation zone using tourists to blame their teams performance is hilarious.I think what you have eluded to is the commentary I have found and is what has me bemused. Imagine if City had fans, they'd never lose if that was the case.I've never thought this to be the case. Good atmosphere with 90% of the stadium behind the team is worth a few goals a season I'm sure but teams around the relegation zone using tourists to blame their teams performance is hilarious.
