By the way David Coote didn't pay advantage when Salah got wiped out from behind when he was 1v1 with the keeper.

He waved it off as it not being a foul at all.
Shit decisions happen in most matches. Salah does have a habit of going down easy so that could have played against him.

No denial of a goal scoring opportunity. Mo clean through one v one. Can I have some of what you are smoking?

I don't think you understand football bro.

The ball fell to Nunez, he scored. There was no denial of a goal scoring opportunity.

It's like saying "Why didn't they give us a pen?!" When a player is fouled but another player then taps it in and the goal is given.

This is the problem he has now. Shit decisions that on any other day be written off as a shit decision by a shit ref are now being hyper analysed to prove he is corrupt/biased.

He hasn't got a chance with English football supporters. And that's without even needing to see the Salah decision.

For me I don't see why the guy should be cancelled from English football altogether. He made a stupid mistake, during lockdowns 4 years ago. People do and say dumb shit. There's no reason why he can't cop a fine, publicly own and acknowledge the inappropriateness of his actions. Make a comeback to the game down the track once this whole saga is forgotten about.

That may well be in the EFL where there is less eyes on him. Or perhaps as linesman only to start with or 4th official. But in general I don't think it's fair for someone to do something like this and not have a chance to redeem themselves. It's not like he was taking bung payments to influence the results of games or anything like that.

He also hasn’t made things easier for all other refs. Just ramp up all the conspiracy theories etc. You would not be happy if you were a fellow ref

End of the day refs are human, of course they're going to have opinions on the players and managers they work with. It's hardly groundbreaking that they have negative opinions of people who constantly berate them.

PGMOL set a precedent over videos showing referees making offensive comments six years ago when it sacked Bobby Madley for sending a clip of himself mocking a disabled person to a friend.

After briefly relocating to Norway, Madley subsequently rebuilt his career, making a Premier League comeback in 2022 and going on to continue officiating at the highest level.

This.

I think he's just a shit ref who freezes in big moments, he illustrated that a few times in our game vs Villa at the weekend. Naturally a number of his gaffes involving our games over the years have been doing the rounds on social media.

Not sure how PGMOL or the FA will navigate this but I don't think he can referee in the Premier League again.

Sucks to be him, needs to get better mates and not say this stuff on camera.

Haha you scored the goal mate, so that's the no denial.
The problem was Coote didn't give the advantage, he waved his arms to say no foul. So we got lucky that Nunez was there to collect and score otherwise Coote would have done nothing despite it being an obvious red.

If was giving advantage and waiting to see if Nunez scores before bringing it back for the red the fair enough. But he wasn't.

If it was really that obvious red then VAR would have picked it up anyway as an error.

Ref's are human so they are going to make mistakes, they happen every game.

We don't know that. He may well have pulled it back for the foul / red if advantage didn't materialise.

He didn’t pay advantage, he waved off the foul completely.

No he didn't, he waved play on advantage because it fell to Nunez, restoring the opportunity. Nunez didn't have to score for it to be an opportunity to score.

How would we know? He may have been waving at the ball, seeing the advantage develop before calling a foul / red card. VAR would have intervened here anyway if he didn't.

The fact is a goal was scored therefore there never was a DOGSO to discuss.

Arms out is advantage. Swiping arms across is no foul. He did the latter.

Nope before

I'm sure if Nunez hadn't run with the ball then he would have pulled it back, but we can play the hypothetical game if we want.

No he didnt. I take it you havent watched the footage. He doesnt hold out both arms out to say advantage, he crosses his arms and swipes them to indicate no foul play on.

I dont know what to tell ya here. Just watch the footage.

Salah is a known diver, he got a tug back and dove forward, the leg clashes only came after Salah dove and he took out the Villa defender in doing so. Can easily see how that's not given but classic Liverpool fans claiming everything is against them. #VictimFC

Salah dives just as much as any other forward. But not when he's clean through. He's too goal hungry. It was a foul.
