Surprised Starbucks had 11 billion to lose in market value.
That's alot of shit coffees.

You’re right , that’s a lot of shit coffee

Those numbers don’t add up
11 bill would be more like a 30% loss

Interestingly they aren’t on the franchise list , are they company owned , not franchised ?

They're both. it's incredibly hard to get a franchise though. they also operate mini versions of their stores in like Walmarts and airports, too, and they're not actually owned by Starbucks either. the ownership model is pretty much all the place.

Starbucks just cater to a tiktok crowd here anyway. it'll do much better this time around because of it.

Won't do better.
No tiktok clout coming out of Pariah Waters.

Or you could just order a long black which saves you the trouble of ruining a perfectly good coffee by putting milk in it.
Oh yeh i know. I actually have my first for day as a black at home (well staying at my mums) from the moka pot for my breakfast. This is my morning tea cofee

Police are searching for 34-year-old Khe-Sanh Michealah Farrell after she escaped from the Boronia Pre-Release Centre for Women in Bentley.

At about 2:30pm on Sunday 03/11/2024, Farrell escaped from the facility and was last seen heading towards Hayman Road.

“As with any escapee, members of the public are advised not to approach Ms Farrell as she may react in
an unpredictable manner,”

I mean, she's in the hall of fame for names only but I've seen her name before.

Has to be the sort of person who just needs to be in jail for a long time.

They better hurry, the last plane out of Sydney's almost gone...

I don't want to pry or anything but would you care to explain your absence which was both sudden and lengthy?

Legit no actual interesting reason. I don't even remember when I last posted before trade week.

Was super busy with work for a bit last year, just kinda got out of the habit I guess. Looks like not much has changed. WC still garbage anyway.

i enjoyed my first week in perth for 5 years when i was in town the last week. the elizabeth quay aree had 4 more buildings, as well as new pretty nice looking ones at west of the cbd, including that cigar shaped one.

plus the new city campus of ecu looking good.

the elevated line under construction is a game changer for that corrridor, hope they activate the spaces under it in a good way

a cable car (like cairns) from the quay to kings park would be such a great addition

Why has nobody thought of this before? ;)

Still unbelievable queues at the Piara Waters coffee outlet (that shan't be named)... pain in the rear for anyone who has to drive past as it's really verging on being quite a traffic hazard.

The sad thing is that Starbucks, Taco Bell, Krispy Kreme etc. aren't actually good. It's just novelty value and brand recognition. There are plenty of things we don't have here or do as well as other countries but coffee isn't one of them. Even our chain cafes are better than what you can find most places. Want a good pastry? Find an understated bakery run by Vietnamese migrants.

According to Google Maps there is a 4.9 star rated cafe 50m away from the Starbucks location. Hopefully they have had a spike in sales from overflow customers who got the shits with queueing rather than seeing their business decline.

Piara Waters is another generic land-cleared suburb full of cheaply constructed display homes. Must be lovely in Summer.

The homes are designed so that the aircon is super efficient inside but once you step outside you may as well climb into the oven.

Source; my grand parents in laws used to live there.

It's called Piara Waters because "Reclaimed swamp on the outskirts of Armadale" had terrible numbers in the pre-project surveys.
