People's resilience to hot weather seems to be waning each summer. It was 40 degrees plus for 13 days of summer three seasons ago, a few days of mid/high 30s isn't Satan's arseh*le.
I can deal with it because I have an air-conditioned car to take me to an air-conditioned office and a pool to cool down in. But no one is taking their dog for a walk in 40 degree heat or taking a pleasant stroll or voluntarily working outdoors. It's manageable but it's gross.

Hot is relative.

Doing manual labour outside in the middle of the day when it's 40 degrees sucks but then that sucks when it's 30 or 35 or raining and most people don't do it anyway.

Was 34 degrees in my car about 3pm yesterday then when I went out and watered the lawn around 6 it was magic. Opened the windows and let the breeze through the house. The way some people carry on you'd think it was so inhospitable the only option was to be inside with the air con set to 18 the whole day. We've got minimums in the teens or low 20s coming up. People need to calm down.

It's absolutely putrid my car just read 36c

Mo 34c 18c - least it's under 20c at midnight
Tu 37c 24c - thats putrid
We 38c 24c - thats beyond putrid
Th 36c 24 - thats putrid also
Fr 32c 19c - bearable
Sa 28c 17c - better
Su 24c 14c - you beauty :p

It was 24 at midnight last night and 20 the night before.

The hottest minimum excluding today which obviously hasn't finished is 20.5. Which is pleasant.

I'm pretty sure it was hotter than 24 at midnight last night but even 24 is still too warm for that time of night.

The minimums for today and tomorrow are 23 which won't occur at midnight, they usually occur early in the morning like 4am.

Well tonight has been fun, another warm night in Perth and our area has had a power outage from about 6pm to 9.30pm.

Ours was until 12.30am - weirdly everything worked except the lights

I’ve not experienced that sort of outage before

We get them all the time out country, it's pretty obvious that the infrastructure has been let go over the more recent years because it never used to happen.

Well ours is about to get an update because we recently received a bill for 5,200 so that underground power can be installed - 3k of that is to connect it to the house
