Welcome! The new season brings many new fortunes and many new horizons. Ambition thrums through the League, and everyone is poised to post up a storm and soar to yet greater heights!! Forgotten are seasons past, as we set forth to deliver upon our prospects and our promises. EXCEPT for a few miniscule individuals who we ought to make an example of - our pitiful little pipsqueaks! These diminutive moles managed only a pittance last season, indeed you may hardly have heard from them. So, well, we ought to gee them up, no?! Add some spice, some verve, some spark - see what these young mice can make of themselves eh? And what better way to chum the waters than a marvellous little bit of sport, an all-in weekly Sweepstakes!! With the ample backing of the League's mighty movers and shakers, these minnows will be left to rest on their laurels no more. All the while, we get to enjoy a fun flippant flutter.
So how does this all work?
A darn spiffing question, pilot! And let me tell you, it is this simple:
- Anyone who is not a pipsqueak can enter. Just post in this thread before the completion of Round 1 (1/2/2024). Participants will start with 1 PIP (₱).
- There are 25 pipsqueaks sorted into 12 teams who hardly dipped a toe in last season. For reasons of anonymity and to avoid direct scrutiny, their names and indentities have been obscured. Each team will have a shorthand moniker.
- In the lead-up to Round 2 match threads, participants should choose one team to back for a three-week stretch. All of your ₱ will be placed on this bet - no ₱ may be witheld. At the end of those three weeks, you will be paid out in accordance with how your backed team of pipsqueaks performed. See the table below for payout rates.
- After the three-week stretch is complete (post-Round 4, before Round 5 match threads), you must again select a team to back, and the process is repeated every three weeks until the end of the end of Round 16. Pipsqueak team configurations may be subject to change.
- Whoever has the most ₱ at the end of Round 16 is really awesome.
That's all there is to it! Until it breaks or is shit and I add more rules.
TL;DR: Choose a team that's gonna post the most, in a couple of weeks, choose again.
