The Plight of Essendon, Its List Management, and Its Scope to Improve Despite the WADA Case

So once Sydney fall back to the pack who will you turn too?

I assume it will be the reigning premier.

Won't need to change, wonderful club and above all a wonderful culture

LOL, Mark Thompson likes this as he tries to get an invite to the premiership reunion.
He was invited. He had something on. He wasn't happy with some at the club. Which is understandable. He wasn't ditched by the club. The arrangement was as planned. The club tried to find him a suitable position (hardly the action of being ditched). The club remained unbroken when he went. He's loved by the club.

Didn't he get an invite a day or 2 before the reunion? If true it's no wonder he told the club where to go

He was invited, he just didn't want to go, it was Bomber being Bomber, he never actually said he had not been invited, he said he hadn't received an invite, of course a member of the back to premiership teams is gonna be invited to the reunion.

While you are just a troll and add no value to this board in any way when it comes to football discussion i will still ask you anyways in the hope that someone with some common sense will answer.

Why would Essendon not want Thompson at the Reunion? ( Before you answer Hird, he was not there )

Well I will let Thompson himself answer that one:
“I think they thought I might not have wanted to go or they’re too embarrassed.”

So yeah, if you know more than Bomber himself then please enlighten us.

With Rance signing I excpect the Dockers to have a real crack at Carlisle. The dollars offered to Rance will appeal to Carlisle and he will be able to slot right into McPharlins spot. Bombers will get the first round pick they were after. Hooker and Hurley still hold down key back spots so no real loss there.

They have an obvious deficiency in the ruck after the failed recruitment of Giles. Kruezer as a FA would suit their ruck/fwd combo with TBC, much more so than Luenberger. Although I'd expect the Tigers to have a good crack at Kruezer as well with Maric losing his mobility.

It's about not believing a word anyone in football says. They are ALL liars.

Therefor you have to make your own decisions on common sense and that would indicate that he did in fact get an invite but didn't want to go. Stable behavior has not been a staple of Thompsons lately.

Again, why would Essendon not want him to go and i doubt there would be many, if any current admin there anyway.

Which of Hurley, Hooker, Hibberd, Heppell, Zaharakis, Z Merrett, Daniher, Colyer, Carlisle, Myers, Gleeson, Langford, Laverde, Edwards and Ashby should we trade then? They are all either top class already, established seniors players or young developing types, they are all going to be around for 6 years +, it is a good base, it just needs certain areas fixed up, there is no way a full rebuild is needed, none whatsoever.

I'd throw Myers up, and probably Carlisle as well

Myers has shown patches and I would think would have currency. Injury prone so whilst you lose a good player, really, he's only played more than 15 games in a season twice over his career. Also averages less than 20 possies a game so he's not an elite midfielder.

Carlisle, well this is the contentious one. Good big men are hard to find, so to let one go is huge. That being said, he's a backman not a forward and you keep playing him forward. If Fletcher retires, then he could take his spot, but tipping he'd want a guarantee.

And why would Mark Thompson lie about not getting an invite? Funny you should refer to common sense now when the current Essendon administration has shown very little of it.

He said he didn't receive an invite, big difference to not being invited.

Because he didn't want to look like a prick for not going. Now for the third time i will ask. Why would Essendon not want him there?

I see the trolling is slowly seeping back in. Reverting to type.

And for the second time I will answer “I think they thought I might not have wanted to go or they’re too embarrassed.” Are you going to dismiss Thompson as a "liar" and "unstable" for the second time? Nobody would even care if he did not turn up, just as you said Hird didn't turn up and there is no fuss.

So when does the blowtorch move on?

We've deserved it. But given we have the break you'd think there'll be a new narrative in the coming days.

We've been bloody woeful but I tell you what... we're only but a game behind a couple of clubs who were tipped for and recruited for the Top 4. Who's next in the gun? And will they be as relatively secure as Hird is?

And there it goes.

For a week at least anyway!

Fair or not, a lot will be willing the bombers implosion just on karma grounds for (so far) getting away with the supps program

Even if those other two implode, you're the main show for 2015

Blowtorch fairly and squarely on the Power now

Blowtorch fairly and squarely on the Power now

I'm chucking logs on it, but it won't be a long term burn. Outside the crows, people don't hate port the same way as the supps issue has put so many off against efc

Again, not saying it's fair or warranted, but it's the reality
