In that vein, should be easy enough to walkup and get tix for Freo games at the new stadium. Should be able to snag some primo seats. The positives just keep coming :'(
Two grand final guarantees will become available as well. Get into 'em.

I picked a bloody good buddy this year! The younger kids Langdon, Tucker, Weller, Blakely really can make the future of the club. Weller's goal was silky smooth, Langdon was about our only good player in the first quarter, Tucker looks easy best 22 now, and Blakely didn't have his best game, but he was still putting effort in till the end

I am actually feeling pretty positive. We really needed this game to give our coaches, selection committee and players a wake up call...

As much as we currently suck we still have a very good core list and although we've been thumped two weeks in a row, it's more about our own screw ups (ie turn overs) than it is about the opposition being far better than us all over the field. A new simpler game plan and a few personnel changes sounds like an exciting recipe to me. Getting thrashed won't bother me as much if we are seeing positive changes that align with a re-build mentality.

Hamling looked a bit more with the program as with Kersten. Of course the program is swimming in the dog bowl, but at lest they looked a bit more with it.

SHill is becoming so consistently good, elite actually - stand out star. If we could get the talent that's there but not firing around him, we might avoid the spoon.

I had band practice this afternoon so just had a tele in the background with the sound turned off & pretty much ignored it as every time I looked up Port were banging another one through.
The music was great so I feel pretty good now. Freo are finished for the year and the foreseeable future so can switch off for a while.

Attempt at positivity - If Ross actually sticks to his word and makes sweeping changes, I can see a bit of new life finally being breathed into the club.

We'll still lose but at least the rumoured discontent among younger guys will disappear and things will become a bit more exciting. Who knows...coherent, attacking football might even follow.

There's some who thought last year was an aberration and the team would bounce back.

I'm one of those and I'd be willing to wager a lot of our fan base was as well. Outside the club I doubt there were many if any at all.

Yeah, our coaches ;)
No. The coaches and club knew that there would be some harder times ahead (I think they thought 2016 would be OK but after the start decided to rejig early).

Exactly. Fans thought we would bounce back, because we are the best judges (/sarcasm emoji). It is going to be a tough year. I think we'll win 6-8 games, mostly later in the year.

Under26 team looks pretty good.

xxxxx - APearce - Hamling
Weller - Logue - Crozier
B Hill - Neale - S Hill
Walters - xxxxx - Bennell
McCarthy - xxxxx - xxxxx

Darcy - Fyfe - Blakely

Tucker - Sherro - Balic - Grey

We have a solid group of players to build around. We need a chf and a ff, one of which needs to be able to ruck and we need a small fwd.

- Get Croz in the backline and see if he can improve our rebound.
- Get Sherro in and play him as a defensive mid like we did at the end of last season to some success.
- No point playing Griff, Tabs gets first crack to hold onto the spot. Apeness when fit comes in if Tabs isn't cutting it. Let's see if they can make it.
- Similarly, Collins instead of Dawson until APearce gets back.
- Get games into Ryan, Logue, Balic.
- Wouldn't be opposed to giving Darcy a game or three to see how he goes.

Let's not waste this season getting games into Suban, DPearce, Griff, Dawson, Johnson, Spurr, Ibbo.

Not saying all go next week but we nees to transition quickly past these players.

This season can be a positive if... if we use the next 20 games wisely.

Tough year, yes, but for the players to completely forget how to play the game? Was anybody expecting that?

It's a learning curve. There are plenty of new pieces in the team. Players are trying to play differently. Either they will adapt to a new way or they will be gone. I'm not surprised so far.

Have you noticed that Dawson is trying to take marks (rather than punching)? That is because he is trying (unsuccessfully) to adapt to a new plan. The grind until a stoppage, rinse and repeat is out. We are struggling to adapt (mainly because of personnel) but there are significant changes underway.
