So many positives at the moment

that was good footy and we kicked another tonne

Loved the vision of Serong in the middle with Fyfe and Omeara , solid set up and what better teachers of the craft could you want for a young mid

Fyfe looked damn good out there , every one of my digits crossed he can maintain that for a couple more years

Amiss ……….. just …….. YES !

Jackson just bounces and jumps like a basketballer so athletic

Talent across all lines

Sub management of Fyfe , Johnson and Ras is perfect.
Not only are they managing fatigue they are giving the young guys game time and injecting fresh legs when necessary

Walker …….👍👍👍👍👍

I’m excited ⚓⚓⚓⚓

The triplets: Hughes, Brayshaw & Banfield were all good again.
Treacy, best game I have seen from him.
Walker, great job on a very good player.
Cox & Pearce, excellent games.
Clark fought a tag & contributed
Erasmus, some beast moments, like when he ripped the ball away from Rowbottom (I think), who is a very strong at the contest player
Jackson, the unicorn has been released.
Amiss, apart from a couple of misses, is turning into a star.
Schultz just works so hard & today got the reward.
O'Meara very, very good.
O'Driscoll some nice moments
Serong, if his points become goals, becomes a top 7 in the AFL mid.
Darcy, the colossus a clear BOG. Amazing game

And a week later
yes yes yes..
And we have to add, that Son Son and Fyfe are giving huge leadership in what is a NEW team!

Yokai!

Luke Ryan is fit again and playing so much better. Plus it was a very good game by both Walker and (low profile) Cox - which I think freed up Ryan to just focus on his own tasks, earlier this year he has been trying to do a bit too much to cover for others, plus being hurt.

One of Pearce's better games too, Hawkins is just a beast and Alex did well.

Helped that none of the Geelong team had 20 posessions, that shut down of supply is such a difference from when we were being swamped by the other mob getting multiple 30 possession midfielders...

Also Darcy just builds and builds, yes Geelong was without Stanley but that made no real difference, Big Darce just smashed them. You can see why Geelong keep trying to lure Sean back East.

The marks inside 50 are just so key, and for the first time in a while we have been efficient in scoring off those marks inside 50 too.

Hopefully we can repeat against Narrm, if we can get that effort clicking away from home against a team that has a super strong midfield, and two great rucks, then I will be very pleased at the turn around.

Agree with everything except Cox. He’s really struggling and was well beaten by Henry. Im sure he’ll click but something is off.

Has been dealing hamstring injury since round 2 which may be impacting his performance. I don't think he was well beaten by Henry apart from one really poor effort, but there were a couple goals he cost us by being too lazy or slow to react.

How good was it not being destroyed by Tom Stewart intercept marks? Just about the most frustrating thing about watching Freo in the last decade or so, repeatedly bombing it long to an intercept marker... stop kicking it straight to McGovern you bloody stupid bozos!

Huge positive if we're on the road to minimising that problem, neutralising the likes or Moore or Lever and May and we're half way to winning the big games.

How good was it to see Stewart go the late rib tickler. Lost his cool and Amiss said thank you.

love that we've stuck with the Treacy/Amiss/MJ show. Kept hearing about being too tall forward on here but all they needed was to work out their patterns and structure together and bam, we have a forward line. With one marking on the wing, leaving one leading to the 50 and the third hanging about the square, there are dangerous marking options at each line, something we really missed in the early weeks trying to get the ball up the ground. And they're only going to get better.

From a list management perspective, the only definite short term need is the Walters replacement as for all Shultz's hard work, the crafty goal sneak that is Walters, Betts, Rankine, Rachelle, Cyril, etc. are gold when you are contending, who can make something out of nothing and turning momentum when things stop going your way.
