they lost the bolt cutters in the fight, which is why they took him

I don't know if you've still got it on your IQ box, Jubs, but if you go back and look Wayne had the bolt cutters in his hands and was about to start cutting when Margo, in a panic, told them not to worry and to just bring the guy with them to save time.

Bazza then asked for help grabbing the guy, at which time Wayne sat the bolt cutters down on the ground and started dragging the guy to the car.

I only really noticed because when they mentioned leaving the bolt cutters at the scene i went back in the episode to see who actually forgot them.

Hmmm.. what's Lizzie up to now? There's always something, it seems.

How about Baxter's (ex) boyfriend Tarzan? :D

Vera shot at Margo but never actually fired a shot it was just a sound effect. Not even any smoke from the gun.

I agree I LMAO when the women was belting Bruce during the robbery. If you ask me the cops did Margo a favour knocking off that dead weight Wayne.

So was the outside shot of the prison the actual channel 10 studio?

They should use Vera's personality to program that robot in Korea, or better still the new Robocop could be Vera turned into a robot. Man I love Vera!

Sure is, and a fair bit of it is still intact today (most of the windows are still there, and the prison gatehouse is the actual gatehouse into the studio. For those that live in Melbourne and feel like a drive to Nunnawadding, you can see the bulk of it from the road. As it's the Neighbours studio today (they pretty much were pulling down the Prisoner set while setting up the Neighbours set apparently), those Neighbours tours are your best chance of getting access inside the studio's grounds.

Interestingly Neighbours has used the studio for some of their prison scenes - especially the scenes around the side of the building (the kitchen entrance in Prisoner), and the prison roof scenes.

And I love the idea of using Vera to program those robots :D

That was just odd.She went down like she was shot but there was no blood.

Yep,here is the old ch10 building, which I think is now owned by Global Television

Adding to brucetiki's post, most of the relics used in Prisoner are definitely there and in full view from Hawthorn road, and apart from the revolving staff entrance gate and the lower wall now gone, the studio buildings are intact and appear to be stuck in a time warp.

Having lived in Forest Hill for most of my life, watching scenes played out in the Nunawading studios and nearby suburbs has given me a nostalgic trip, just a pity I didn't watch the show back then. Mahoneys Road in Forest Hill where Frankie and Doreen were disguised as nuns, and Geoff sitting in the car confronted by the cops, just outside the old cinema; the Forest Hill shopping centre courtyard and outside mall where many scenes took place. Anyone remember the old Muirs store? Except for Mahoneys Road, almost all of these locales are 'buried' underneath Forest Hill Chase.

Here are a few other Prisoner relics around Melbourne, some that are still around and are good enough reason to be on the National Heritage List :

The group of units and townhouses on the left is where the halfway house used to be. It's located along Porter Street, Prahran, a one way street that goes parallel to the Sandy line and about 30 metres from Prahran railway station

The courthouse in Macquarie Street, Prahran (off Greville Street), the setting of McNally's hit and many a trial

Dr Miller's surgery in Spring Street (near cnr Johnson Street) Fitzroy

So, with Lizzie's little escapade that makes it two escapes in a matter of months, all after the 'department' launched an investigation into Mrs. Davidson's leadership and the security of the prison.

If she was close to be replaced two escapes ago, how on earth is she getting through without attention now? Perhaps Harold Bishop is too busy editing the shows scripts. ;)

LAst nite they filmed georgie working ina woolworths at
20 holloway drive bayswater. Wonder what is there these days

I think the sign mentioned that the address was the head office of Woolworths, rather than the store itself.

The shopping centre Lizzie walked through tonight seemed very similar to that terrible Vermont South shopping centre (they had a big apple on their sign) on Burwood Highway (is it even still there?).
Given it would only be a matter of minutes from the studios there's every chance of it being the one they filmed in.
I do however remember Lizzie being outside Forest Hill Chase when she was with Captain (or Capan, as Lizzie said) Barton, stealing donations from the Salvation Army, but perhaps they used two shopping centres at the time.

That building looks a bit big for a Woolies store.

The location doesn't ring true either, being in an industrial area, Woolies never went for the superstore concept, they were your local shopping centre type of chain

I think the sign mentioned that the address was the head office of Woolworths, rather than the store itself.

That makes sense, it could definitely have been their distribution centre, with the offices on Holloway drive.

I was in the area this morning so made a small detour to have a look, and sure enough, the 'gatehouse' is basically identical to how it was during filming whilst the iconic long, exterior shot of the prison is still very much there and visible from the road.
Quite surreal to see, in the flesh, what we all know as Wentworth Detention Centre.

Did you pick up any old female escapees ?
Hang on she didn't escape, she had a day out

One thing I've always found strange is a visitor is allowed to walk unescorted from the prison gate to the reception, which is maybe 150-200 metres away.

I warned Mrs Davison 10 weeks ago about visitors walking around unescorted. Now look,Lizzie got out pretending to be a visitor leaving

:D

I had a look around for a circa-1979 Kerry Armstrong, but alas, no luck.
To be honest i would have settled for the 2011 vintage, actually. ;)

I don't think my better half would have taken too kindly to being asked to vacate the front seat, though. :D

Isn't Vera in fantastic form again? To unmarried mother Hazel: "You know what that makes your children?" :D

Fletch put Vera in her place but I guess she ruined the mood for poor Hazel.

I think Meg may have finally found her true calling if she becomes a parole officer.

What happened to the 'one visit a week' regulation?

I know they relaxed rules a tad with the conjugal visits but by my count Bea had four visits within a matter of days (including two in the same afternoon).
The officers have even started arranging visits for the prisoners by phone.

And to think that the prisoners regularly complain about the way they're treated.

I just loved the way Vera was feeding off Bea's misery from being dumped by Ken Pearce. She even put Meg in her place when she tried her new do gooder role.

I agree about the visits. Then to top it off the Governor takes Doreen out for a date with her love-match.

God dam I am in love with the 1979 Peta Topano. Everytime she is in a scene I go all lovesick like a teenager. She was so stunning..my type of girl..dark eyes hair and beautiful face.

And the lawyer did many a voice over in the 80s. Man he oozed 70s charm.

Yes i am still up to the early episodes..up to ep37 now. :D

Love it how vera looks different away from the prison.
