Child wants a tattoo voucher for Xmas
Just moved to Melbourne and living in Brunswick

Any suggestions for a good tattoo place

TIA

You'll probably find a recommendation closer to Brunswick, but I have a handful of friends who've all started using Sweet Life in Northcote semi-regularly over the last year or so. Hearing their experiences and seeing their work is the closest I've come to getting one myself; when I ultimately tattoo a tribute to my dog on me, that's where I'll be going.

Where’s a good area to stay in Melbourne these days. Only for 3 or 4 nights and pretty central. We have a 3 year old boy so nighttime isn’t a big deal.

We’ve booked an Airbnb a block north of Chinatown but so many people tell me that Melbourne has gone to shit I have no idea what area would suit.

We will go to the aquarium, probably parks and Vic market and will be relying on trams and trains.

Aquarium is overpriced, underwhelming and it's not really that good.

The zoos on the other hand are fab.

I got a tattoo tribute of my two dogs when I was in Berlin last month.

You need to stop listening to fear mongering morons on social media. Unless you're one of those weird little people who are determined to be scared of everything, Melbourne is amazing.

A block north of Chinatown has you within a block of Central, so you have good access to everything.

Vic market is quite shit. Just row after row of the same poor quality sweat shop bullshit (cos I doubt you're going for the food/fish/meat if you're a tourist.)

You mention parks - the botanical gardens are amazing at this time of year. Might be tough with a 3 year old and having to push a pram around, but I'd argue that it's worth it.

Agreed. Went there 3 weeks ago because stepdad from NZ really wanted to see it. It's nothing like the market I loved when younger.

A week ago went to Adelaide market. Wow. It's what Vic Market should be. Chalk and cheese.

Did you got to the cake shop in the central market, the Greek vanilla slice is the best. Great coffee in there too.

I understand the cheese part but I wouldn't have thought there would be high demand for a chalk market.
