Did you got to the cake shop in the central market, the Greek vanilla slice is the best. Great coffee in there too.

No, we bought half a dozen hot Portuguese tarts from Saudade and enjoyed them on the spot :D

Followed by a quick lunch at the Chinese cafe a few doors up.

Saw the cake shop on the way back but we were full by then!

Nom nom nom.

Where’s a good area to stay in Melbourne these days. Only for 3 or 4 nights and pretty central. We have a 3 year old boy so nighttime isn’t a big deal.

We’ve booked an Airbnb a block north of Chinatown but so many people tell me that Melbourne has gone to shit I have no idea what area would suit.

We will go to the aquarium, probably parks and Vic market and will be relying on trams and trains.

I always like staying near Flagstaff gardens.

A short walk downhill if you want to go to the busy area of the CBD. The gardens are nice to sit and wonder if the weather is nice and it never gets to crowded. Vic market close by as well.

Not sure I'd describe the whole city as gone to shit but the area around Flinders Street station has seen better days.

I don't know for certain but can't think of any reason it would flatten the battery. What have you read/heard to make you think this?

I have thought about joining a bush walking/hiking club.
Have looked into it .
The one close bye I don't really like their summer roster of walks and seems to be quite lot of overnights.
Pretty unfair on my partner.
The other one close bye only for younger people..I'm rather join that one no older stick in the muds.
I wouldn't mind a club gets me going places I wouldn't go to on my own eps tracks that are not well marked.

Unsure what to do now .?

Do my summer as normal plenty of beach walks and swimming with the doggies.

Then look at the first place later on after summer.see what their roster looks like.
They seem to do a day walks Tue easy and Thursdays medium to hard day walks.

*I generally do hikes mostly on my own been to Tassie twice on solo hikes.
Mainly day hikes ,well marked treks.

Anyone joined a bush hiking club ?..
