The race for top 4

Ok, so you are backtracking on your prediction we are going to miss the top 4 now. If we get five more wins, the midrange of your predicted number of wins for us, we end up on 15 wins, which puts us right in the race for the top 4.
Mate. I said I think you would get 3. Predictions vary. I think two games I gave you as a loss could easily be a win on a good day. I just dint think Sydney are that good

You said we would get 3 wins, then said you had a +/-2 margin for error on that prediction, then said we were likely to get 3 to 7 wins... anyway, I suspect we will outperform your expectations.

Yes - we spend hours in a plane sore

We meet giants at home

And collingwood at a venue we havnt beaten them at in over 20 years.

We meet bulldogs at home who id back us to beat at etihad

Then north in north antarctica. Where again we have a shit record.

Then the shockers - at home

Then port - another team challenging for top 4 - away

Melbourne at home

Lions at the gabba

Theres two games there where i go thank f we have a hga. Theres three where the opposition have a hga that should be enough to get them over the line. Theres one at home id rate us to win away. Theres one away that we should win easily. Then theres the shockers.

And around 15000 air km.

But yeah tell me more about how hard it is to play collingwood at the ground you share compared to beating them after flying over the other side of the country.
We should move Perth closer to everyone

It would only be fair for the comp really. Maybe we should all share the same home ground so there is no advantage to anyone, and maybe all clubs should live close to each other so no-one has to travel too far.

Maybe some clubs should accept what they entered into too.

In reply to a poster suggesting that we get it easy because of hga - i point out that we are equally disadvantaged by away games and flying.

Not to be smug, but Sydney aren't good enough to make top 4. They're playing a very negative style of footy that is NOT working. I've noticed several teams playing this game where they clog up the opposition 50 and rely on transition goals.

11:1 to 14:9 (12 to 23)
9:5 to 8:23 (14 to 31)

You cannot expect to win games of footy if you're getting hitting the scoreboard 50% of your opponent.

Sydney now have:
North AWAY, will be a tough game, and North beat you in the first game. (North favorites) I'd expect North to win.
Suns, you'd say win
Essendon AWAY, tough game and I can't see Essendon losing at home
Collingwood HOME, Tough game and Pies in hot form
GWS AWAY, tough game
Melbourne AWAY, tough game
Hawthorn Home, play well against them.

You have ONE sure game.

I don't see you winning any away games, or Collingwood.

Can see you winning against Hawks, and GWS + Gold Coast. If you're lucky you might steal one more.

13-14 wins max, and that does not make top 4.

We will see. This week was not a good showing, and we seem to have come out of it with a bunch of injury concerns on top of that. You may be right.

I saw the writing on the wall last week. Sydney ALWAYS play a competitive style of footy but I can't see it working this season. Interestingly we did exactly the same as Sydney against Melbourne and it paid off, but I was surprized.

The removal of the COLA is starting to impact, and it's hard to see how the Swans won't tail off in the short term, with a few senior players ready to retire.

Welcome to the level playing field (well, with the exception of the Swans academy advantages).

More the impact of a 2 year trade ban for not breaking any rules.
This essentially stopped us recruiting the mid-tier players we had in the past and forced us into the draft and developing via the NEAFL ranks.
Not all doom and gloom as we have arguably the best record of finding good players via the Rookie Draft and some pearlers coming along nicely ATM

What we need is an injection in the midfield as thats where the signs of wear are currently being felt.
Heeny, Mills, Parker, Jones, Florent and Hewitt is a decent base but another 2-3 decent to rotate through including a sizeable bull to replace Kennedy are a must this off season.
