Seriously. if i hear the Tony" chip on shoulder norfern suburbs hero" Shaw and the like, ramble on anymore about who we have an haven't beaton, i will be sick

They haven't beaten a team above them? They don't have credbility? Well, for started we only have 5 sides above us and we are yet to play two of them. We have beaten one, lost by a point interstate in another clash and lost two others (geel and ess).

In the meantime, i hear about how Freo can win the flag, are brilliantly coached and have enormous credibility, Really?
Can someone tell me how many sides above them this credible side has beaten? Answer?

We beat Freo with players out and get told it doesn't really count. if we lsot, it woudl have been a choke. no win situation. Will it be the same this week if we beat Sydney?

You can only beat who you play - yes. But Richmond haven't beaten anyone of note.

Their 'scalp' was Freo in Melbourne with a huge injury list to their best players. Fremantle with Pavlich, Sandilands, McPharline, Ballantyne etc is a much better team than the team that lost on Sunday - that's why they are talked up as final contenders.

Richmond were out classed by both Geelong and Essendon, as well as losing an earlier game to Fremantle.

The fact that Richmond haven't played Hawthorn and Sydney yet probably suggests they have a pretty reasonable draw up to now.

the fact of the matter tony shaw is correct.

we always get threads where the majority want soft draws and are hoping sides have injuries to their better players when they play em.

my constant reply to that is no we want to constantly play the better sides and we want to play em at full strength. there can be no argument then.we then know for sure where we are at and how we stack up against the better sides.

fair enough we did what we had to do and defeated a badly depleted side injury wise in fremantle.you can only beat whats in front of you.

if the shoe was on the other foot id say we would be totally uncompetetive.
just imagine no riewoldt = pavlich, no vickery = bradley, no maric = sandilands, no chaplin = mcpharlin , and no stephenson = griffin.
what do we read into defating such a structurally depleted side.

this week against sydney we play em without their tall forward setup that won a g/f no goodes, no lrt, no sam reid. that surely has to make our task easier.

i suppose it is about perspective, its about a lot of things when rating a side. it certainly is not just about the win loss column.

im going to say it again. last yr we missed finals but imo we played better footy than we have so far this yr.
last yr we played a fair few cracking games against real good opposition at a high skill and intensity level invariably we lost most of em. i for one cant say we have played many games at all this yr at the required skill level or intensity level yet we are in the 8. go figure.

The media have to talk about something. Let them analyse away, it doesn't change our ladder position one bit. There are plenty of myths about Richmond that have been busted this year. This one rates the lowest in care factor in my opinion.

Freo wont win the flag this year but their list isn't too far off.

Richmond have way too many spuds to be a top 4 side. Still need to find another good dozen players before you become a contender.

Playing in finals is a good start but don't kid yourself in that you have a list that can win a flag.

The next 2 weeks will be a real guide to how Richmond are traveling. Sydney and then Hawthorn.
I would recon they are a really good chance against hawthorn, match up and play well against us most of the time.

I don't think Freo win was a big win for them. Any team with an injury list like they have are nowhere near their best and have excuses.

Still big improvement from them this year. Is it safe to say Finals yet???

Sydney has had as bad an injury run as you and are still top four.

We have come from 12th,.
