WTF? Didn't the Premier League finish just a couple of months ago? Jeepers, how long does it go for? :D

Where's Duclos? Is she taking holidays already?
Season usually goes from August til May.

There's internationals throughout the year which stretches the 38 weeks out.

I'm sure people do and I Know I've regularly listened to EPL on radio since SEN themselves had the rights back in 2004. Although it's a terrible sport to listen to on the radio as you can't picture in your mind what's happening, many are interested in hearing the goals as they go in because they are in bed while the games are on. With the terrible arrangement that exists with Optus, many who aren't computer savvy will rely on the radio coverage rather than using illegal streams.

I listened on both Saturday and Sunday nights and they are using the Talksport coverage which is is decent. The only gripe that I had was that it took 30 minutes into the Hull game for the coverage to start, but was fine other than that.

I sometimes do. There's an ABC station (ABC News Radio I think it is) that has the Radio 5 Live feed of EPL matches most weekends and if there is a Spurs match on I will usually listen if I can't sleep. Never had Foxtel so haven't seen a live EPL match on the telly for years. Wouldn't bother to listen to a stream but if it's on my radio dial I will tune in (not a rusted on EPL fan though I have to admit, just follow Spurs a bit).

There are other (free) ways and means, like reddit/footballhighlights and other "live" options too. You're right about it not being a great game to listen to on radio which is why I think very few people do.

I listen to it on the radio in bed on the ABC News Radio station.

Are all you guys in the same bed or something? I know a lot of people that follow the EPL and have never heard of anyone doing this :)

in the past, by that I mean in the late 90s early 00s, i enjoyed coming home from the GFs place, going to bed content and empty, and falling asleep to the tones from 1179AM, where commentary from the english premier league was on.

Like many people I have pretty major sleep issues - for me, I try and listen to podcasts or radio shows that are interesting enough that they don't drive you crazy, but boring enough that it will lull you to sleep. Football on the radio is one of the best things I've found.

I used to listen to Wimbledon on 3RPH (Radio for the Print Hanicapped). That would have put you to sleep.

Is this EON FM the station from the early eighties if i recall from memory?
And didn't 3xy AM morph into Eon FM?

EON FM was the original name for MMM - Still remember Lee Simon.

nah, but some of the DJs jumped ship from 3xy to Eon, which might be what you're thinking of.

At the risk of showing my age, :D 3XY was around for many years and, for memory, was the number one music station for yonks before Eon Fm started in 1980. It didn't take long (a few years?) before EON and Fox killed 3xy.

Good old Kevin Hillier was a staple on 3XY - Stll have memories of Rocktober.

I assume watching is better if you have Foxtel or whatever thing it's on these days. I watched Hull v Leicester on SBS last weekend. But listening to it on radio is better in my opinion, perfect thing to do as your going to sleep and you don't need to see a million advertisements on a screen.

denham said gary rohan will be a cat recently apparently. implied it will be after this season.
rohan re-signs.
denham says he will FINISH his career at geelong

wtf?
I texted in about 3 times in the last few weeks telling Denham that Rohan is going nowhere. I text in again this morning and Denham said someone from the Cats told him. The bloke is a flog like Ox.

Someone told me that Patrick Smith had a crack at Ch 7s' Olympic rowing commentary. I don't suppose anyone remembers when it was, do they?
This week or last week?
Thanks
Yes he did, had a crack at the swimming as well and for once was spot on. I think it was Monday morning.
