A great guy. Takes money off Bruce Matherson the pokie king and then preaches about gambling.

Does that explain your hatred of Ox?

Also, I've never seen anything published on the matter.

Someone who was high up in the organisation told me and got to know him well. Also know other people that deal with him in footy, all say the same thing. Also I just can't stand listening to him, in the mornings or his calling of footy on Sundays, would rather Gazey.

Purely from a radio POV Ox has to go.

He is unfit to spearhead a program on a medium where vocal clarity as well as a basic grasp of English are required.

You could always threaten to sue if anyone said something mean about you.....that's the done thing apparently these days.

...but then there is always the worry that they may counter-sue.

No.....was going to, then thought I really don't care enough about SEN anymore after their "star" presenter had his say. If they allow that sort of talk to get spewed over the airways, then they have lost us.

The only show I'm still interested in is Harf and Allen, they are excellent....having said that, not fussed either if I miss it.

Filled in the survey macmum ?

Fill it in ! Otherwise if you don't care, don't comment. You have your chance to say what you feel for gods sake

So really you're basing it on hear say

No , not at all these people are close to the action.

don't need to be close to the action to be hear say

noun
1.
unverified, unofficial information gained or acquired from another and not part of one's direct knowledge:
I pay no attention to hearsay.
2.
an item of idle or unverified information or gossip; rumor:
a malicious hearsay.

Why bother with that above.
But I agree with too much gambling advertising, the money back shit does my head in.

because you were asked if your info was based on hearsay. you said no it wasnt because not at all these people are close to the action. i wanted to point out that hearsay and proximity/relation to the direct source are not a prerequisite.

anyway. gambling is a vexed issue. it provides so much to the afl and therefore SEN. people at the station are by and large intune with societal issues and i feel want to help combat these (drugs, coward punches). but there are two things SEN doesn't denigrate or challenge:

1) gambling (it pays their bills)
2) alcohol

Not sure I see a massive issue if Ox is getting paid to promote responsible gambling by a gaming company. The same way I wouldn't have a massive issue with Fevola being paid by a alcohol company to promote drinking in moderation. These days sometimes its better to try and be on the inside than out. It's hypocritical, yes, but he'd probably be silent and if the Ox can help people through it then I'm ok with it.

We live in a commercial world, your principles can't put food on the table and clothes on your kids back.

Hardly top secret. Just google David Schwarz and ALH. I've seen many posters at pubs with his face on it, I presume they're Mathieson pubs.

+1. Ox is probably better equipped than most to be the face of how important being responsible with gambling is. If you read his book it was his inability to be responsible that lead to his addiction.

Also see his ads regularly for Dayhab Addiction treatment. He probably took a fee for that too.

Another thing, who is the guy from The Practice that does the financial segment on the run home, Jason Cunningham??? Whover it is, I swear I have heard him tell the story about his parents business going broke and they had to sell everything and move in with Nanna about 100 times. And to make it worse Mark Allen either has Alzheimers or just humors him every time he tells it. We get it mate, your parents defied the odds and you are so proud of them. F*ck me, feel like I'm listening to Christian radio every time I tune in to this guy.
