Yes, I know how it's meant to work but when you see things said like 'I'm not even taking this back to my LG' that's hardly an example of representation of anybody's view but the person voting.
Let's not confuse the tribunal with an admin selection. TedDougChris has been a captain for a long time and understands how things work as well as his own team and LG.

I couldn't even have told you who posted it and yes I know, everyone's been here a long time.....

Thing about tribunal challenges is, the vote isn't whether you like it or agree with the rule. It's whether the situation is covered by the rule or it isn't.

If a committee member who understands the rules has chosen not to waste their time chasing up LG responses to a clear cut rule, that's just called efficiency. Rest assured they would have advised their LG but not bothered debating an unnecessary furphy.

The only confusion and in depth consultation and debate that seems to occur happens when club LGs or club reps don't understand the rules or the tribunal function's purpose.

If a club feels the rules are wrong, then the committee is the place to raise that concern and get the rules changed. But that's not what a vote on a tribunal decision is for. Why should a club rep have to chase up half a dozen teammates for an opinion on a black and white rule for a spurious challenge? That's just clubs and other committee members wasting everyone else's time.

The bigger issue in committee is inexperienced club reps and LGs voting against the rules because they don't like the rule.

Haven't seen one submission from any penalised clubs to alter the rules they have received penalties for in two seasons of being back in committee.

Every season I have ever been in committee the admins have raised the rules before the season starts for any clubs to raise their concerns or flag changes and it barely registers a whimper until something happens in season. That's on the clubs.

I don't remember it being based on anything other than, 'it happened to me back in season (whatever it was) therefore it should apply now'. It wasn't based on right or wrong. 'Spurious' is your definition of it, not mine.

Everybody has the right to challenge a penalty if they feel that it's not warranted, it's not wasting your time, and making a decision is part of your function as a committee member.

Some of us may just interpret the Rules differently than the Cabal

A club's lack of understanding of the rules is nobody else's problem but theirs. 'Feeling' something is not warranted is completely different to it being incorrect.

But yes, they have the right to ask the question.

If you struggle to interpret the rules then I heartily encourage you to seek the support of your LG to understand them. Not every club rep has that same problem.

It's not a lack of understanding, it's an opinion.

Are you wrongly assuming that The Wonders votes are decided by me alone?

Let’s move on

They are governed by interpretation. That's why you get to vote on them.
No, they're governed by the rules. We vote on whether the scenario is accounted for by the rules.

I would never give you that much credit.

You chose him to be your Captain

Were you serious about wanting The Gumbies to fold?
And he did a good job as captain. But he did disappear and an admin, like a captain, needs to be reliable. It's the same flag that kdavva74 had last time and he would have been a wonderful admin.

I have floated clubs folding or merging, including the Gumbies, as an idea to remove the bye.
