When I clicked on that, I was just expecting to hear tell of a magic floating bridge that self leveled over rising waters, and that maybe it had malfunctioned.

This is just a regular high level bridge, yeah?

Reminded me of this bridge:

Saw that go underwater in 1998. Mother Nature can be an awful minx to engineers when she wants to.

Locals ****en livid considering they screamed for a RAISED bypass.
Council was like " nahhh will cost too much "


Sure as shit the new bridge went over budget and is only like 10m under what the bypass was costed at.

This was in the next suburb north of me yesterday


That's looking west, my place is about 2k back towards the bottom left corner of the pic.
Can't see the water getting east of that train line personally

I got a bit nervous when the water was rising, but I'm over a kilometre from the river so the Penrith peak would've needed to have been a couple of metres higher to have troubled me.
