Went to the game yesterday, and was so pumped for the dogs being a Westie. Bunch a mates we could wait to get back to the scray and flip it on it's head.
Have to admit it was very anti climactic. Not many drinking holes in a close vicinity like most areas.
Station hotel was loud but 3/4 full. Back alley Sally's shut the doors at 10 as they don't have a decent drinking licence yet. Revs had a line out the front, but they held a mini music festival within on the day. So plenty of people there that couldn't care about football. And poor little foot, the small little bar that is great and will be the first of many bars like it and Footscray quickly gentrifies. It couldn't handle demand being the only bar on Barkly st, literally closed there doors for an hour or 2 cos it was riotous out the front and the place is tiny.

And to add to it all, every merch stand at the game was empty of dogs gear 2 hours before the game. Even the mega store inside the g empty. The manager told me the whole of Melbourne had nothing left. Doggies would have lost 10s of thousands of dollars in merch sales yesterday, seeing there not flush with cash (VU major sponsor)massive opportunity lost. The winning pay check might make up for it all tho. Lol
