After speaking to my boss on Friday about the potential of the JobKeeper payment and being told they needed a few days to see how it all works, and that they haven't forgotten about me, I received an email at 10:53am this morning making me redundant.

I had a missed call from her mobile at 9:35am this morning.
Called back without answer at 10:51am.
Received email at 10:53am.

Nice......

Everyone may or may not be in the same boat, yet this whole thing is starting to get to me.
I was diagnosed with grief-triggered asthma last July, a couple of weeks after my dad died, and that in itself, is flaring again, and because it's flaring, anxiety is rising, and one chases the other, I'm so bloody tired because of having a fear of sleeping when asthma is making it more difficult to breathe normally, which is making me anxious and drawing on some random panic attacks. I've got both seretide and ventolin puffers, and have started using a humidifer / vaporiser at night (is helping) and taking lemon / ginger tea. My nose is often blocked and I have a doctor who just sends me for chest xrays that show nothing. Ideally, I would like something a little more stronger for the asthma.

Sorry for the vent, I just feel a bit suffocated by everything occurring.

Wow, I wish I had more, but I generally like reading what you write, I like you. You deserve better. I am a light sleeper and find Lavender oil rubbed into my temples helps me sleep longer than I might otherwise when I do get to sleep. Lavender bud oil, not lavender leaf oil. The better the grade the better the sleep. If that fails try reading one of Mr Magic's long postszzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.................. ;)

Everyone's under stress, my brother has a small business, which is hurting.
He had shortness of breath like you mention, a panic episode, when an impatient idiot overtook him in the supermarket queue, disobeyed spacing rules.
Key thing is to take a slow deep breath.
It's so effective.

Have any of the asthma sufferers in here tried the buteyko method?
From what i read it helps restore the co2 levels in the blood and also helps change the chemical composition of the surfactant in the lungs

Sorry to hear that mate some employers sure are campaigners in this day and age .
With your asthma ask your doc to put you on 400 mg of symbicort it’s a preventer , tell him /her that you want a cat scan not an X-ray as cat scan better shows up any other under lying problems . Ask your doc for a referral to a heart and lung specialist mate if concerned about the asthma , if you live in Melb go to East melb heart and lung , they are excellent .

That’s all I could find from the 80’s a few years ago. Off memory, the semi is about a 30 minute highlight package. I’m only sorting through stuff now.

drop box works well

My health is generally pretty good but I’m occasionally having the odd restless night.
My chiro and even heard this from Emma Murray, but try the 478 breathing technique.
Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds and release for 8 seconds......slowly, three times.
Murray does this with the players.
Does work.

Yes, have heard this from some older clients as well, must be gaining traction as a possible solution.

I think it is inevitable we will move toward broad-based wearing of masks for a while. Does anyone know if anyone is producing washable AFL team masks yet?

Yes. I did a breathing technique with a psychologist like Emma.
Close your eyes, inhale through the nose, mouth closed, inhale deeply.
Imagine your stomach is like a balloon slowly inflating, hold the breath, exhale slowly.
It takes your mind off racing thoughts, become centred, so to speak.

I just tried the 478 and they had to call an ambulance to revive me

there's a lot of hype about. the afl can't do a thing until the gov't gives it the go ahead and that hasn't happened yet. some would say not even close. frankly i'd prefer to wait rather than be given a mickey mouse concoction.

Negatives - my business is farked (although think I will get through the other side thankfully)

positives - getting to spend more time than I ever have with my 2 young kids. Bloody awesome to just hang out and their constant energy helps me to forget all of the other shit going on at the moment

I think they get the go ahead without crowds, other laws will be getting loosened soon, that was news this morning
