You teach them that some kids call their parents Mum and Dad, other don't
You teach them the majority of Australians celebrate Xmas, Easter... whatever, you also teach them Chinese New Year, or other events that are relevant to kids in the class etc...

Cancelling shit so people don't get upset is ridiculous, and setting up a generation of kids who will falter when they enter the workforce and realise that everythings not rainbows and skittles!

the things you and I learn at a young age shape our decisions and beliefs now as adults, and yes over time what's acceptable changes and we don't always agree with our parents.

But what we teach kids shouldn't be based on opinion, it should be based on facts. Kids have parents, whether that's a Mum and Dad, 2 Mums or 2 Dads, or maybe raised by a grand parents, it's factual, why do we need to strip that back???


In isolation, this isn't a big deal as you said, but when everything is getting rolled back because we are worried about upsetting someone, we aren't creating an inclusive culture like people think, we are creating a society that not the one bit resilient.
