Thats his best album IMO. I read his book and it was about Danny Whitten in a lot of respects. Young sacked Whitten cos of his drug problem. Whitten died of an overdose a few days later. Its a great album, recorded low fi too, but right on the money. On the beach would my second favourite, again production is off the charts with a lo-fi real feel.

Vedder can sing, well better than Young. Pearl Jam are a very average band.

My favourite of his changes every now and then but the Ditch trilogy as they're known are all unreal albums. His output in the 70s is ridiculous.

Looking back at my youth the Vietnam war had ended less than 10 years before I started work, and the cold war was in full swing.
We didnt give 2 ****s. Just cones and beers with occaisional sex was my youth.

Got a Thorens turntable hooked up to a pair of 1972 Celestion 66 studio monitor floorstanders at home. They are almost as old as me. My late father passed them onto me. I'll never sell the Celestions for obvious reasons. The sound is out of the world. Classic !!

With high res digital they say there is no difference to the human ear. But there is, it takes a couple of hours. digital has a sort of fatigue, analogue doesn.t. I run a turntable through a valve phono/ pre amp. Once it warms up its like dipping your balls into a warm bath outside on a cold winters Tasmanian night.

Reminds me, gotta set up the outdoor bath and screening, the stars are freaky on a clear night.

I got the cortese, the grange is the top of his range. Still the most important thing is the recording. And why people post why good their stereo system is on the internet when the sound is massivively downgraded ****s me. A bit like Sony advertising their 500k tv when I watch on a 1980 Pye tv?
