That's where the relatives went to school as well. There wasn't anything in Rupanyup or Minyip.

Anyhow, I got Scotch for Christmas, so in the current spirit of this thread, shall I drink or put in my petrol tank?[/QU
drink for sure and merry christmas doss

Reece McKenzie appears to have wasted little time making an impression at Richmond.....

Has already done what some Fans would love to do to Ty Vickery, that is if you can believe anything that is ever posted in the Scandals & Rumours thread on the main board.

What did he do

Threw an extra punch after a sparring session with big brave Ty....
Ty is such a big brave guy... he loves going hard at people... like DylBucks in the round 2 game...

Should of posted Ty's boot to McLean's throat act from the year before or he's king hit on Dean Cox....
He is just a general twat who thinks that he is a hard man. DylBucks showed that he is not that afraid of anyone...

Buckley was so impressive this game, reading the play, positioning well and forcing free kicks, running and carrying, delivering the ball so well and he can kick it a long way. Just watching it though the 0:18 mark is why I don't rate Bell and don't think he can play on the ball, you see this as a recruiter and the pen comes out, ball handling is the biggest skill in the game and always has been, it's what makes the elite so special. 2:18 Buckley leading his opponent to the Ball off the opposition's kick and taking an intercepting mark. It's what makes a player a good defender as not many can do it (anticipate and read the play to that level and stop an opponent). You see a guy read the play like this you know he can play defence. Gun defenders will lead hard to the spot the ball is going to go at the right time as it's about to hit the opposition's foot, it's what separates the guns from the guys who just follow their man. In fact this video shows him doing this quite a bit. Could be the first good small defender we've had since Dean Rice. Love how he tackles with aggressively and follows up and runs hard after he gives it off.

Him, Kreuzer and hopefully Daisy will be like new recruits next year to go along with the new recruits we picked up......

You can add Walker and Judd to that list. Cripps, Curnow and Carrazzo perhaps?

Let's just say "add Cripps"

If we are getting serious then Carazzo and to an extent Curnow should not be getting Games. Carazzo for the obvious (slow, crappy disposal, bad decisions). Curnow for more or less the same. Granted can run all day and keep opposition mids quiet but IMO bit of a liability with ball in hand.

Will be good to have Walker fit and firing (hopefully up forward - make it happen Mick), and Judd obviously but not holding my breath for either to play 22 games

The Bell fumble from a rocket handball? I'd have thought it was his lack of awareness or poor ball use.

I'm confident he'll be a good player though with an injury free run and some added confidence.

Yep. Disposal is poor, but the stopping role he does is more than just a luxury we can choose not to have.

Bell fumbles all the time but mostly off the ruckmen, Robinson was much the same, it's a big thing when judging a player is their ball handling, a guy like Judd or Murphy for example never fumble, Judd can gather a ball rocketed to him or on the ground at full pace with guys hanging off him, lets forget his explosive speed and all that, this is what elevates him and pretty much all the other top midfielders. It's what I rate with Graham. Mclean had slow hands, why a guy like Mclean was just a player but Sam Mitchell is a gun, one reason anyway.

I watch a lot of what we do in close in detail, I notice a few guys fumble a lot when the ruckman direct the ball at them. I used to think, Robinson and Bell have a 20-30 possession game and that looks great but a lot of the time they should have had it 10 or 15 times more but don't due to poor ball handling. And what happens to those fumbles? They go to the opposition or sometimes result in another ball up. This being the case, you have to ask just how costly this actually is. A guy in the same role, in the same position with good ball handling, does this mean 15 odd more clearances to us a game and us getting the ball more than them?

Anyone who drops marks and doesn't handle the footy well and under pressure I don't rate. It's the most important skill in the game and while it's not always the most obvious thing that stands out, it's one of the most costly ones when you don't do it well.

Quality post, for a long time ourside has lacked in "one touch" players, hopefully some of the younger fellas are an improvement in this regard.
